Great place for a quiet walk particularly during the week (can be busier with cyclists at weekends). Itβs amazing that this enclave of nature exists where it does and the diversity of plants and trees is beautiful on a sunny day in almost any season.

Spicer botanical park is a very peaceful and nature park with a big range of walkway and mountain bike track. Also is dog friendly with on leash, a stream run through the park. Carpark beside the park.

Well Maintained Park. Plenty of Parking. Multiple tracks for hiking. It was hard to figure out the exit of "The Doctor Track". No markings at intersections. If you have an Apple map then follow it. Google Maps has no data for tracks. Hope this helps. Cheers

Another great part of Porirua. The Spicer walkways around this area are something to behold. The views are great in the right places.

What a fantastic place to visit, and go for a walk. Just a 10min walk away up the path, you can find so many Miniature setups that the kids will enjoy. E.G. Smurfs village, minions village, fairy city, Jurassic Park etc. See my photos showing all the cool item on the walk to see.

Cool place for walking the dog amongst well established foliage and a series of easy trails. Currently squeezed between the dump and a commercial area. Few creeks and cool off track areas for exploring. Not a large amount of wildlife or bird life. Not sure how long we will have it for as itβs marked to become a mountain bike park.

A natural reserve starting at Broken Hill Road Carpark. This is also one of the starting points for the Colonial Knob Summit walk, which I planned for later. Adjacent to the Spicer landfill. It is an arboretum of exotic trees. And has small easy walkways with interesting names. The sound of a small water stream can be heard at times and very pleasing to the ears.

This is a nice bit of Bush at the bottom of Colonial Knob. Easily accessible for all ages and abilities. Our toddlers can manage the full loop with a bit if cajoling - even if they are tired out afterwards. There are some picnic tables and a big open area to run around in. The birdlife is amazing. Watch out for mountain bikers coming down the trails.
