Do not recommend! Used Barbara and won the case for the amount of $3500 she took all the money and left me with less than $300. Disgusted in her service she is a very greedy woman.
I chose Barbara Buckett at BuckettLaw because I genuinely believed she was the best in New Zealand, and after working with her, I know I was right. Barbara is fierce, ferocious, and relentless in fighting for her clients. I would have hated to be on the receiving end of her negotiation style. If anyone finds themselves up against her, I believe they’re facing a very uphill battle. Before I hired her, I read reviews, asked around, and even deep dived into Reddit, time and again, her name came up as the go yo employment lawyer. She was who I chose based on that reputation, and after my own case, I can confirm she lives up to every word of it. She combines decades of experience with sharp strategy and genuine care. She kept me informed, gave honest advice, and fought for the best possible outcome for me. If you want someone in your corner who won’t back down and knows exactly how to win, Barbara is the one.
Not for me. I found Buckett law very slow from the start of my case. Only “parroting” my inputs without being inventive or communicating very well and unable to think out the box before mediation. Their communication as sub par and I felt there was no clear strategy. Luckily, I found a much more energetic team else where who think out the box and deliver results. The bonus is there are much more competitively priced too. I don’t have the time to waste justifying this in a response Buckett Law. I’ve paid their bill - which frankly they weren’t worth a cent of and I hope not to have to deal with them again. So yeah, personally I would NOT recommend. Look elsewhere.
We used Buckett Law to deal with an employment grievance. In an initial consultation we were fully informed about potential ways forward.
