Had a first time cut with Cheyane. I arrived with a photo of what I wanted (short layered choppy bob) and she absolutely nailed it. I left thrilled and feeling uplifted. I'm always loyal when I find a good cutter and Cheyane is my go to from now on.

Kia ora! I absolutely love this studioβs vibe and warm energy. I visited on Thursday and had such a lovely experience with Sarah. They were incredibly kind and gentle with my hair, and did an absolutely brilliant job. Iβve never walked out of a salon feeling so confident. They really listened to my hair inspo and nailed it perfectly. I would 100% visit again and highly recommend them!

If youβre going for blonde, this is your place! Iβve been going to Blow Up for the past 4 (?) years or so now. Cheyenne has been my hairdresser this whole time. When I started seeing her, my hair was short, dry, and fried from at home bleach blonde attempts. By consistently seeing Cheyenne weβve grown my hair the longest itβs ever been (below my chest) and it is so healthy despite having semi-regular foils. I am so happy to have someone that I can have full faith in with my hair. I am so grateful to Blow Up!

Needed a last-minute haircut, got a same day booking with Matthew. What a wonderful experience. He was so efficient but also made you feel comfortable. Will definitely be coming back again.

I need a cut to maintain my bob every 8 weeks and this place is my go to in the last one year or two. They offer dry cuts, perfect for me since it only takes 30 minutes for a cheaper price. Best value in town!

I normally go here because my haircuts have come out the most accurate to my specifications when I go here and I find most of the hairdressers friendly most of the time. But the low review is for the store's male hairdresser who I've had my hair cut by once and briefly interacted with in other instances, where I feel he was passive aggressive specifically with me, rushing my appointment with him and cutting rougher than the other hairdressers. The one and only appointment I had with him as well, he made it five minutes late because he left the shop to walk his dog. I've been to the store a few times over the last three years and only interacted with this hairdresser this year, and only after these these interactions have I left feeling like the place is a slightly hostile or unwelcoming environment. I really want to continue getting my regular trims here because of the accurate and efficient cuts and central location, but don't know if I should because I feel unwelcome each time I have to or happen to interact with the male hairdresser.

Been going to see Matt for a while now and always does a good job and is always up for good chat. Love his interest in retro cuts and his YouTube channe

The people there are sooo cool. I think you can just walk in any time and pretty much get a hair cut right away. Maybe it depends on the season, idk. Also there's an Backpackers discount for people who are travelling. And if you let Matthew give you a make over and let him record you, you can even get money.

This was the most anxious haircut I've ever gotten, the guy seemed nice but said some things I wasn't that comfortable with. He just did what he wanted with my hair, or his vision for it, and ignored what I asked for. Cut my hair way shorter than a trim, gave me a fringe when I didn't ask for one. This is why I avoid getting haircuts.
