Appalling Prices, Shameful Portions, and Disgraceful Service Let's be clear: this was a profoundly disappointing and dishonest experience. I ordered the Hutt Breakfast, and the quality and portions were nothing short of a rip-off for the appalling prices they charge. The portions were tiny and offered absolutely zero value for money. My breakfast was a shambles: the sausages were minuscule and under-cooked, the bacon was sparse, and I received only a single, lonely hash brown. To top it off, the small ciabatta was bone-dry with no butter. My friend's experience was worse. He ordered the Cape Lamb Bobotie, which was completely unrecognizable from the menu description. When we raised the issue, the staff's response was a stunning display of dismissiveness and gaslighting, trying to convince us that what he received was the correct dish. Thankfully, he persisted and eventually received a refund, but the attitude was utterly disgraceful. Between the dismal food quality, the minuscule portions, and the staff's attempts to argue about their own menu, this establishment should be ashamed. We will absolutely not be returning.

A tasty meal, well-priced and good service. The portions were generous and well seasoned. Coffee was tasty. A spacious cafe with large windows that welcomed in the morning sunshine.

Great place for a meal and cuppa and centrally located in the Hutt. Food is ok and we had the spicy chicken rice and steak with chips. The rice was similar to a tom yum flavoured dish however was a little oily. Steak wasnβt too bad. Coffee and service was fantastic though and will definitely be back to try their other items.

5 stars all around at this beautiful cafe. Located near dowse art museum and in town hall. Plenty to do and close to lower hutt city. Delicious meals ( steak n chips, fish and chips and Thai beef salad.) Nicely cooked and presented and was great value for price. Definitely recommend visiting here if you're in Lower Hutt. Thank you

Went for brunch, this venue is consistently very good. From the coffee to the food this was of high quality. The venue is clean and tidy, the service was very good. I enjoyed the salmon hash and my husband had eggs and bacon. The eggs scrambled were excellent. Make this on of your go to when visiting Lower Hutt.

Our second breakfast at Tutaki Cafe and the food was delicious. Scrambled eggs with a very generous side of beautifully cooked mushrooms. To finish, we couldnβt resist a freshly baked donut with Nutella centre. Wow, best donut Iβve had in a long while - light and fluffy. Very friendly team and great location. Look forward to trying lunch sometime soon.

Great place to have lunch. Awesome food. And really yummy home made French treats. Another point to note is that the cafe is not too noisy. It is an absolute gem of a place to meet a colleague. The ceilings are properly treated for sound and music is not too loud.
