   Japan Mart is, as the name suggests, a specialist Japanese grocery store, but I was surprised to see their lack of attention to product management. I came across sauces with less than a week’s expiry still being sold at the regular price. Other items are the same, with barely six months left at most. Since similar ingredients are available at Chinese, Korean, and other Asian supermarkets at fresher quality and lower prices, I don't see much reason to shop here unless you have a very specific preference. Most significantly, when my child needed the toilet during our shopping, I was flatly refused. My child’s distress was to the point where other customers were becoming worried. Fortunately, Chemist Warehouse kindly welcomed us to use their staff facilities, which was a huge relief for both me and my child. The Japanese spirit of mutual aid and helping those in trouble is clearly not present in this store. At the very least, they should surely be managing their products more properly. After reading other people's reviews, I’m now certain. There is honestly no point in shopping here. It completely ruins the positive image we have of Japan.

   Japan Mart City Centre is honestly the best hidden gem in town! Everything is so affordable, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Every time I walk in, I feel so welcomed it has such a wholesome, inviting vibe. Definitely my go-to spot for Japanese goodies!

   Discover Japan Mart City Central, conveniently located near the Holiday Inn Express, making it an ideal stop for travelers and locals alike. The store offers well-organized products, featuring a wide range selection of food items, including delicious snacks and frozen treats which are Japanese brands. But that's not all! Japan Mart also offers a delightful range of beauty supplies, showcasing popular Japanese brands of shampoos and skincare products. Don't forget to take note of the friendly staff! During my visit, the cashier greeted me with a warm smile and inquired about a membership card, which I unfortunately didn't have. You can easily make a payment with any major credit cards. Overall, it’s a charming spot to find a slice of Japan right in your neighborhood!

   Kids Bought a drink on special, but got charged in full. We drove back a long way to have it fixed, didn’t even receive apologies. Good learn for the boys!

   This Japanese supermarket is a goldmine for all your culinary essentials, including dinnerware, drinks, and beauty products. They even have 100% buckwheat soba and Japanese mustard. We’ll definitely be returning when we’re next in Auckland.

   The rudest Japanese woman I ever met, it doesn't matter what the shelf price are, she will just ignore the price tag and charge you whatever she want. And if you bust her for it, she will come up with different excuses every time. She did it not once, not twice, but many times. Buyer beware.

   Great to see New Zealand is getting more Japanese products and was especially excited to be able to buy mitarashi dango however definitely still a bit expensive. Still I think it’s worth it, and will definitely be back.

   Huge Japanese store in the heart of the city. Hard to find parking , but ok for a Sunday. Heap of fresh Japanese food for all pockets. There is a small section with after the best date products with decent products still edible with a great price. Some cleaning and beauty products are sold there as well. Worth a visit.
