   Great location with food parking. Dog friendly. Great coffee. Outdoor and indoor seating options. I ordered the fish and egg breakfast which was brilliant. Others ordered Ruby vege breakfast and loved it. Will return!

   In short: they're trying in no doubt difficult times, but falling short We had a disappointing lunch on Sunday. Arrived to maybe 1/4 full. pretty stark, empty but clean atmosphere. waited 40 minutes for pretty underwhelming dishes; I'd hate to see the kitchen deal with close to full house rush. Counter food didn't draw my eye, and the menus have been well used; time for a reprint guys. Meals were ok, nothing "wrong" but disappointing. like what I could make for myself at home, but i'm looking for that little bit special - in taste and presentation - when i go out. For example, the fish cakes were plump, dense, maybe over processed and thus had no texture; the greens were a large pile of slightly sloppy spinach; best was the poached egg, which wasn't too hard inside. I've had worse, I've had better. Having been here before maybe 18 months ago, the feeling of the place and the overall visit is now a lot different. In a tough economy you get a sense they struggling at Ruby's to get the cafe experience right for customers.

   The food was tasty but not a lot for the price. Delivered quickly but unfortunately they got our order wrong (need to write it down maybe). They did offer to change it, however we didn't want to have the extra wait. Other people's food choices looked much better in terms of amount so maybe we ordered the wrong thing.

   An amazing tasty lunch today at Ruby’s. I noticed it seemed like the whole place had improved . . . new outside tables, it felt clean, and the menu had changed. Then I was told it was fairly new ownership which made perfect sense. We sat outside on a beautiful Welly sunny day under an umbrella with my well behaved little dog. The lovely lady that has just moved down from Auckland was so helpful and friendly. She brought a bowl of water out for my dog straight away. Highly recommend, a happy experience with well priced super tasty food . . . you really can’t ask for much more than this ☺️

   Really wish I could send feedback privately, but there isn’t an option. The service has gone downhill DRASTICALLY in the recent year. We were never greeted, never got the menu, never got water. We had to grab the menus and water ourselves and then order at the counter after waiting quite a while. For a table of 5, we were given 3 forks and 2 napkins. We asked for more but only received one more fork and one more napkin and had to go back AGAIN to ask for more. 2 of our meals came out on the same plate. I’m pregnant and asked for my bacon to please be overly cooked and almost burnt, it came out near raw. Our poached eggs on another meal were cooked the whole way through. Our servers hardly acknowledged us and weren’t polite. I REALLY miss the way Ruby’s used to be

   Had scambled eggs on toast, can't complain. Probably not the best thing to review Coffee on point. Cafe had a great atmosphere, staff we polite, service in point. Definitely worth a try

   We came here from Lower Hutt based on past reviews and photos. When we arrived at 10am the place looked messy and there were numerous tables not cleared and used paper napkins on the floor. We didn't use the tomato sauce because as can be seen in the photos, the top was filthy and covered in crud. One could only guess what's fallen in the hole. Despite this, have given 2 stars because the waitress looking after us was wonderful and my meal was okay.
