After a really bad experience at the Porirua branch, I went to the Lambton Quay Farmers and the ladies there more than made up for it! I needed some makeup cos I don't really wear any, and Sarla and Vaneshnie (hope I got the spelling right) were such a fun, friendly duo. They were patient and humorous and even called other staff to weigh in on product choices which made the experience all the more enjoyable because everyone was so warm and friendly. I went away so happy with my purchase. The Porirua branch could learn a thing or two from Lambton Quay!
Every time I experience poor service, went to purchase perfume, lady obviously being incredibly suspicious of me. Poor communication about online orders. Had to visit another store because I went in and asked at LQ and they were disinterested and unconcerned that an online order had not arrived despite being ordered over a month ago. I wish there was more homeware, I think that is the best section of farmers and the selection at LQ is limited and poor.
Visited this store today on the hunt for a new perfume. I was served by Heather and she was absolutely amazing. Such an easy conversation and she knew exactly what to offer me. Heather was not afraid to share your opinion on the products and it shows her passion and knowledge for the job. As a retail store manager myself, I can tell when someone loves her job and Heather was one of those people! Thank you so much Heather for my experience today, you were a delight!
I'm here in this full service department store because I planned to do laundry but really wasn't feeling up to it and the equivalent of Walmart (cheap!) is closed for refurbishing. So let's buy a few days of outfits instead! This store is similar to a Macy's or Dillard's back in the States. Cosmetics, ladies wear, shows, kitchen wear, boy's and girl's departments and I managed to find men's wear without too much trouble. I loaded up with some tshirts, socks, undies and brought it to one of the casheiers who rang it up for a total of NZ$125, which is about US$70. I carried it all back to the hotel, laid it out and then changed my mind. This is too much money and I don't have room for it in the suitcase. So yes, I found a laundromat instead. First thing in the morning, I was back in the shop. A different cashier rang up my return and I was back in business. Super easy and no problem since it was all still in its packaging.
The store's staff is friendly and helpful, providing valuable fashion advice. Prices are reasonable, and the shopping experience is enhanced by the well-organized layout.

Fabulous service. Young lady in women's wear took my clothes and hung uo in dressing room. Wish I got her name. Haven't had that kind of service since the uk.
Needed new sports bra. Had to find someone to unlock changing room. No greeting Just in her own time .....then in a very off hand way asked how many bras was I taking in. And then told cubicle two. No one else was there and the manner was so unpleasant. No assistance came when needed to try another size. Just poor service all round. Very disappointing
Went in this morning to get some makeup on behalf of my Mum (I didn't know where to start) Lovely lady Pallavi helped me from start to finish, now I have beautiful products for my Mum to take overseas!!!! Big ups to her. Thank you :-)
