   My mum is a long time customer here, however the recent change of staff and layout didn’t make things better, one single shopping trip, 4 items were charged wrong price (overcharged), and didn’t want to give a refund without my mum asked one other fellow customer. The customs decide person was not that patient nor was willing to listen. Very disappointed, what’s happening to the countdown Birkenhead? We had a good run for the last 20 years, recent change has made it so much worse .

   I am writing to formally complain about an extremely disappointing experience I had this afternoon at around 2:00 PM at the Birkenhead Countdown, specifically at the self-checkout area. I brought my own shopping bags and needed a staff member to verify them. I stood there and clearly signaled for assistance. Two staff members were standing nearby chatting. One male staff member saw me raise my hand but deliberately ignored me and continued talking with the female staff member. A moment later, another staff member walked towards me, and I thought she was finally coming to help. Instead, she told me she was finishing her shift and immediately walked away without offering any assistance. I ended up waiting at the self-checkout for about ten minutes before an Indian female staff member eventually came over to verify my bags. This unnecessary delay seriously affected my schedule and caused me to be late for my subsequent work commitments. Such service attitude and disregard for customers is completely unacceptable. I hope that Countdown will look into this matter and ensure proper staff training to prevent similar situations from happening again. Thank you for your attention. Kind regards,

   What an unpleasant experience has become coming here. I'm aware that they're changing the layout, but you can see a lot of issues trying to find products, which they're expensive enough; you can see narrowed aisles, others a way wider. One day products are in one location, days later they're changed. Several don't have price tags, and there are worker's trolleys obstructing aisles too. This reflects a poor management in this supermarket, not coming back

   Nice little supermarket inside the Highbury mall. Customer service was ok. Looks clean and tidy. Countdown. Easy to find what you need.

   I understand countdown must collect water to ensure no one slips over however I would recommend they go back to the red buckets So people with site impairments can actually see them on the floor and not just a clear plastic container to fall over I acknowledge they have put a wet floor sign out but this was a considerable distance from the clear plastic container at ankle height This is also not very clever when it comes to health and safety as these containers are large enough for a child to climb into as opposed to just bumping over a bucket I would encourage countdown if they will continue using these clear containers to place some yellow hazard tape around the top of them to make them more visibl I will acknowledge that I moved the floor sign closer to the container There were a number of them around the store tonight

   Definitely NOT the cheapest Countdown in Auckland. Many Australian Woolworth products permanantly gone from shelves or refrigerators as they were cheaper than locally produced items.Lucky to find two or more checkouts open at a time maybe as customers shop elsewhere now. Plastic shopping bags gone so customers bring Pak n Save ones instead. The covered parking is great, on those cold rainy days, but come at a cost.

   May 2023 Back again fow a few items in between our regular shop. The store very clean and tidy as usual. Jan 2023 A quick visit was carried out today. Shop is still very clean and tidy. Shelves are well stocked and presented. The self service checkouts are very easy to operate and can make shopping less time consuming. Earlier visit Easy store to shop in. Products are well laid out and there is always a store staff member close by who will off assistance if required.

   they keep under 18s at the check out to check ID cards before selling alcohol. how does that work! they still in their undies. he wouldn't ask his daddy for an ID but he will ask me for one. im twice your age son. grow up
