Very disappointed with the selection of NZ garlic bulbs in the produce department..all very soft, in other words old as most of them were starting to sprout as well. Please remove them from the refrigerated section of the produce area....garlic needs to be kept dry!
Staff are super friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. In store butcher is one of the best around, parking can be a bit hectic at times but they're truly a part of the Birkenhead and wider North Shore community.
This is an excellent New World supermarket. They stock a good range of higher end items. I do find it is one of the more expensive supermarkets to shop which is not that theyre charging more just that they have higher end and priced items. Always well presented, the bakery has excellent quality items and this store is always well organized, clean, well stocked and the staff are friendly. They often have samples to try on Wednesday evenings. Parking is easy, plenty of spaces.
The staff are all so friendly. The store is clean and well stocked. The deli department and all the freshly made items are so good. Hard to choose. Also, there are many items I do not notice at other New World stores. My absolute favourite grocery store.
Who thought it was a good idea to downsize ALL the Premium Mince from 500g to 300g so that you need to purchase two packs. More plastic, more waste, higher prices. Well done.
Since there is no option to provide no stars I have to click one. This is specifically for the customers of New World Birkenhead, please be careful about the scam they are running. They put a price at the isle and when you scan it at the check out it will be different price. I did complained this last time, but didn’t take any proof. I thought it was a one off mistake from them. Being a reputed retailer all the people in the neighborhood trust them and they are cheating on that. I bought 12 pack beer which was showing 27.99 at the isle and when it was billed it is 28.99 . Talking to the duty manager or the concerned people they are arrogant and not even feel guilty for cheating their customers.
Not happy with their European loaf bread, costs $5 but taste has artificial tinge of some food additives. Please check quality of bread.
I visited the store last saturday night, and was greeted with a clean and high quality, well-stocked store. The chilled area was especially tidy and nice, and the handsome, tall young lad in this area was particularly helpful. I hope you reward him accordingly for his great service to your company.
Amazing experience thanks to one worker named Maggie b. Just truly kind and helpful. Whenever I go to supermarkets, workers are usually rude and sulky to work, but she was truly a gem. I recommend going to her checkout.
Good location, heaps of parking all to itself, the store itself looks its aging. Went there on a Saturday morning after the New Year. Not all staff are friendly. Supervisors seem to be up themselves that they are too good to talk to customers but keeping chatting away themselves. Check-out staff are friendly(you can tell they are part time students). Would not return again unless I am in the area.
