   I asked the landlord of my property to contact Appliance Doctor to inspect an issue with the rangehood. I had agreed to cover the call-out fee. However, the technician came, identified that the motherboard needed replacement, and went ahead with the repair without informing us of the cost beforehand. I wasn’t given the opportunity to decide whether to proceed, and in fact, I would have preferred to spend an extra $61 to purchase a new unit instead. I’m quite frustrated, as I expected a more professional approach—seeking approval before carrying out additional work, as most electricians would. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened in this case.
