Went in and was seen by a nurse and was taken to a bed immediately and given pain fillers morphine the pain got better but not completely gone was given a second dose and it settled then they did a quick blood test urine test and also a scan of my kidneys suspecting a stone within the hour I got the results back it was a 4 mm stone and was given pain medication and also meds to take with me including some morphine very grateful to Hanna the nurse and the ED consultant Dave Dickson who took care of me

During my trip to NZ I unfortunately got very very ill and had to go to hospital in Queenstown. The staff, nurses and doctors at Lakes District Hospital were absolutely incredible. Kind, empathetic and extremely efficient and professional. I especially want to give thanks to the kindness and help of nurses Kathleen and Jem, and Dr Ee Lin. It was a very difficult time for me and my family and the nurses were extremely supportive. NOTE: this is a RURAL hospital, they do not have specialists or a blood bank, closest major hospital is in Dunedin

I want to write a review especially after being treated terribly at a different medical center. The doctors, nurses and receptionist were all super friendly to me when I visited. I understand itβs been a long day for them, yet theyβre still showing a lot of empathy and care which made up for the little accident I got.

My partner went to the hospital today after three days of fever, sore throat, and general discomfort. He was worried it might be COVID or something more serious, especially since he couldnβt get an appointment with a GP. Unfortunately, the treatment he received at the emergency department was very disappointing. The staff told him to go buy a test at a pharmacy and said they would not do anything for him. He was never examined, was made to wait outside, and eventually left without any proper care. This was particularly upsetting because I had surgery just three days ago, and he only wanted to make sure it wasnβt something more serious than the flu. We understand hospitals can be busy, but basic medical attention and respect should never be denied.

I had an unexpected visit to the Lakes District Hospital after a fall on the golf course (super unlucky!), and I canβt thank the medical team enough for their outstanding care. From the moment I hobbled in from my taxi, the triage nurse, Dr. John, and Ella were patient, kind, and completely professional. Even with plenty going on around themβincluding patients speaking multiple languagesβthey smiled and laughed as they went about their important work. I appreciate their skill and support during a tough moment, and hope their bosses do to. Great kiwi medical service from an Aussie. Thank you!

Ended up in their emergency department due to a family member fracturing a leg on the reamarkables. They were really busy dealing with lots of emergencies, but their expertise and care with helping deal with the fracture was amazing. Big thanks to the whole emergency dept team.

Thanks so much to the incredible ED staff who helped my partner after he slipped and broke his leg. The level of care and understanding from stretched, tired staff is incredible. Resources were limited, but thatβs not their fault and they did everything in their power to help in every way they could. Thank you.

Travelled from Auckland down here for a trip and ended up in ED. We were so pleased with our experience from the multiple nurses and doctors in emergency. They fed us and kept our little Bub happy whilst trying to figure out what was going on with our kid. Thank you for all your efforts we were seen promptly and dealt with such care!

Attended the ED twice last week with my partner who had an eye injury. Was so quick to be seen both times, all nurses were so friendly and doctors Heather and Lisa were amazing!! They got us a referral to a specialist the same day! Wouldnβt receive this service in the UK thatβs for sure - thank you so much!
