The Great Barrier Island Escape was wonderful! Hanna is an incredible guide, the island is drop-dead gorgeous, the walking and swimming were fun, the accommodation and meals were fabulous. A great holiday!
We were so impressed with our 4 day guided Taranaki walk. Our guide was fabulous, encouraging, knowledgeable with a fantastic sense of humour. It was a challenging walk and we felt a great sense of achievement on finishing it. The accommodation and food were amazing, our guide even carried a cafetière in her pack so we could have ground coffee with our lunch ! If we return to NZ we would definitely join another Walking Legends trek.
The 12-day Bucket List tour was amazing! The guides were so knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions, whether they were related to the tour or simply life in New Zealand. The tour included 3 challenging hikes along with many more attainable walks, but all of them with amazing scenery that was so worth the effort. Having coffee or tea at special locations during the hike each day was fun. The trip was very well curated splitting up driving time and hiking time, making each day enjoyable and exciting. Also, the small group size was perfect. We were able to really get to know everyone on the tour and start some great friendships.
We recently completed the Lake Waikaremoana Discovery Tour. I feel Walking Legends have planned this trip well as we had a variety of very manageable walks in different enviroments/lakes/bush. Our guide Dylan was so well organised, professional, knowledgable, respectful and fun. The food was outstanding and accomodation clean, warm and comfortable. I highly recommend this trip and congratulations Walking Legends for showing off a magnificent part of our Aotearoa.
Brad is a fabulous host, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the walks. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days and highly recommended using this company. The food was excellent and probably too much. Would love to do it again.
Every moment of this trip exceeded my hopes and expectations. Our group of eight consisted of 5 solo travelers and 3 friends. Our guide helped us form a cohesive group where we all felt comfortable with our abilities. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my journey with Walking Legends.
I booked from UK. Cathy and Sarah so helpful and prompt in answering all my questions. Was my first visit to NZ. Such lovely and friendly other hikers on the trip (I was on my own). Hosts, food and lodgings at Great Barrier Lodge were wonderful. Each of the four days was very different, each fantastic in their own right. And Jeremy, what an amazing guide. The age range was 12-56 and he kept everyone engaged, was so knowledgeable and fun to be with. Cannot recommend Walking Legends and Great Barrier Island enough. I will definitely do another walking holiday with them again if I'm fortunate enough to revisit New Zealand one day.
We had a fabulous time on Great Barrier Island doing the four day walk. Jeremy was a great guide and driver. The lodge was lovely with comfy beds, tasty meals and lovely hosts. We could not have asked for more, everything was so well prepared which made our time away very enjoyable, can definitely recommend this trip to others.
We have recently completed the Coromandel Explorer 4 day walking tour with Walking Legends. What a blast! Fantastic small group walking company. Wonderful knowledgeable and encouraging guides. Awesome accomodation. Stunning dinners, great breakfasts, lunches and snacks. No chance of going hungry.
