Nice visitor centre. The staff are friendly and helpful. They give good info about things to do in Kawerau and nearby places. The place is clean and easy to find at the bus terminal. A good spot to stop if you need help with directions, activities, or bookings.
I am a regular user for permit to Tarawera Falls. As the Falls road is closed Mon-Friday I can only bring tourists on the weekend. I would like to buy the permit and pay into your account ONLINE. The I Site open hours are too restrictive because you close at 1300. Thank you Geoff ARDEN HYBRID TOURS
Lots of information about kawerau and new Zealand here. Clean toilets to use while waiting for your bus. Plenty of merchandise to purchase and there is plenty of benches to wait on while the bus arrives. You could stop here for a breather if doing long trips too as they have picnic table to enjoy your lunch on along with bathrooms.
Friendly encounter with Courtney fox. She gave out the instructions clear and was accomodating. No wait time when we visited during the weekend to get the permit to Visit the Tarawera Falls

Super helpful staff, check the opening hours before you head out. Permit is easy as to get and they hive you great info with it as well.
Very helpful and polite to deal with. Have me all the information I needed and the facilities were nice and clean. Stop in and say hi if your in the area and looking for activities to do, it's worth your time
A great beautiful small town. Although we were there to visit the Tawerau Falls, we ended up walking around and having a great meal at Town and Country Food cafe. Would recommend this place
