As per my research and from talking to some other consultants my husband was told that it's not possible for me to get a work visa because of the nature and level of his job in Newzealand after the recent INZ policy changes.    I reached out to Mr. Vinay Sood of ILA NZ after recommendation through a relative already based in New Zealand. I received assistance and advice in applying for a student visa to study Bachelors of Nursing at Southern Institute of Technology, Invercargill. The initial process of applying for the visa consisted of gathering various documents, affidavits, and letter of support from education providers, family records and places of work and etc. This was made easier for my family and me by Mr. Sood providing easy to understand instructions on what to gather and having a checklist. He also checked in on progress and any questions we had on a regular basis through audio and video calls, as well as being readily available to reach through email. As my course was three years long, I had also consecutively applied for the following renewal of the student visa through Mr. Sood as well. All three processes have been straight-forward, easy to apply and done at a quick pace – and I have had to apply by myself as well. At the end of my course and the subsequent changes in the Immigration rule, I was now allowed to apply for the Straight to Residency visa through my Tier 1 job in Te Whatu Ora. I decided to once again apply through ILA. The process of applying through them was extremely easy – mentioning exactly what documents I needed to provide and signed off from who, along with good communication with Mr. Sood whenever I had a doubt or question in regards to paperwork. Once submitted, the approval and the new visa status took 2 ½ weeks to arrive from date of submission which was a greatly unexpected but joyous event that occurred. My family and I, once again thank ILA and Mr. Sood for assisting us through the immigration process since our first contact in 2019 till this moment in 2023 where I have now been graciously granted residency status. I highly recommend ILA to any international student worker who is wanting to come to New Zealand in hope of a better future for themselves.
