In no way, shape, or form would I ever recommend the Emergency Psychiatric Services in Dunedin. As someone who has accessed urgent psychiatric services in both Auckland and Wellington, they are legendary services compared to Dunedin. Some of the psychiatric nurses come across as very dismissive, and almost like they regret their educational path they took in psychiatry/psychology. 1737 literally does the same job these guys do. It's unfortunate. Unless you actually do something, they usually are dismissive. On rare occasions they may be proactive, but they are rare.

They don't even have a phone number to contact them, not helpful at all for those that actually need the help...

If I could give this place 0 stars then I 100% would. There have been a few times where I have been in critical crisis and literally the best you come up with is have you tried a cup of tea? I understand you have limited resources but you can see why not many people reach out
