I’ve had a (mostly) good experience selling and shopping here, with the amount of foot traffic they get, their staff tend to do a good job of handling everything. Overall, I’d recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a more curated, second hand shopping experience. There’s definitely an emphasis on branded, vintage and trendy clothing which I personally tend to prefer anyway, but don’t expect to find bargains as it is an upcycled second hand store, not a charity shop run off of volunteer work. I do wish some things were slightly more transparent though, especially when it comes to the “donation” process for unsold items, I will always choose to take mine back after finding out they’re given to their sibling store, paper bag princess. I’d prefer mine go to the Kōha opshop in Corstorphine than knowing they’re being sold purely for profit. A bit big and greedy. But hopefully with this being mentioned, the managers will reconsider this part of their process and look toward a more ethical and locally beneficial process of unsold/unwanted items. It would be cool to see some of the excess profits go toward community projects or actual environmental activism too.

I had a poor experience selling with the Dunedin store. The way they operate is dysfunctional and confusing, and the staff are not professional. If you are selling it is important to note clothes are not donated to charity, but to their child store “Paper Bag Princess” for a profit. Advise to pick up any unsold clothes and donate it to a worthy charity.

Extremely disappointing experience today with the young woman with short black hair. I walked in only to be subjected to her loudly spouting political opinions and making offensive, degrading remarks about conservatives. This is shockingly unprofessional and completely inappropriate behavior for any employee in a customer-facing role. I was a loyal customer prepared to make a significant purchase, but because of this, you’ve lost not only that sale, but also my future business

Booked a drop off and eventually got round to getting it in. Staff member was extremely lovely and helpful and made the experience super easy!

Big difference between this store & the Christchurch one. Would like to firstly say that staff are polite & helpful. The stock however..a lot that is is in significantly worn condition, or very crumpled etc. I seriously question the pricing of these rather worn items - seems very high for preloved.

Not too my liking over priced for an Aucklander.

Can be a bit pricy but a great initiative! A great place to find good quality second hand clothes.
