Exercise caution when dealing with these individuals. Their practices are absolutely exploitative. They charge for unnecessary services. I did not request any legal advice from them, yet they sent me a bill for payment. Their poor reviews serve as sufficient evidence of their subpar services.

Warning!!! Please think very carefully about using Michael Bate, he has used false information in Public documents, without our knowledge, or us being asked to provide our side of the story, which is defamation (the action of damaging the good reputation of someone; slander or libel). We are still waiting for an explanation on this matter. Michael has also discussed personal information about us to another Lawyer, breaching the Privacy act. And because we were hit in the cyclone and are unable to afford to get a Lawyer ourselves at this stage, it makes this all just that much harder (10 fold). Extremely stressful, to say the least. Shame on you Michael.
My friend engaged mr Bate to go to court with an Estate matter. After spending around $15,600 he was finally told that court was not possible because the estate lawyer was dishonest. Also Bate drafted letters to the banks for him to go along and acquire joint bank statements, the bank manager told him that bate had given incorrect instructions and "having him on" because a court order is needed to get joint bank statements and bate would have known that (30+yrs experience!!) No apology or refund for the dishonest parts of his service were given. The authorities accepted that bate had been dishonest but it was under the "allowable" threshold that would result in disciplinary action.
Been my lawyer for over 20years. Very happy with their service.
