   Our experience with DK Legal, particularly Emma, has been extremely disappointing. We engaged them on recommendation to handle the purchase and settlement of our property, expecting thorough due diligence and sound legal advice. Unfortunately, important matters were not identified or brought to our attention before settlement. Had they been, we would not have purchased the property. This has resulted in significant financial consequences for us. Approximately 18 months later, a dispute arose with our builder. We were very concerned when DK Legal then chose to represent the builder in that dispute, despite the fact that we were their client. This raised serious concerns for us around professional obligations, confidentiality and a conflict of interest. Overall, we feel let down by the level of care, advice and representation we received. In a small community like Hawke’s Bay, trust and professional relationships matter, which made our experience particularly disappointing. We encourage prospective clients to ask detailed questions about due diligence and potential conflicts before engaging the firm.

   I engaged DK Legal for a property EPA and was charged for an additional Health EPA that I did not authorise. Despite multiple follow-ups, I have not received a copy of the finalised property document to date or a response to my enquiries. My experience has been frustrating, and I would advise potential clients to clarify services needed upfront, and an agreed timeframe from start to completion as this job has taken months and months and is still not completed!. Was promised an answer within a week, 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting, it's now going on 4 weeks. Highly Disappointed.

   I had an OK experience with DK legal, but I would highly recommend getting an exact quote first, even shop around and get a bunch of quotes from other solicitors to compare before making a decision when it comes to selling and conveyancing your house. Be warned... DK legal charge like a wounded Bull!
