I came to Community Law hoping for real support, I did not feel listened to or respected. Every time I asked for help, the advice they gave went against me and did not consider my situation, my background, or the discrimination my family faced. Instead of feeling supported, I left feeling ignored and judged. As someone who trusted this service to stand beside vulnerable people, especially migrants and civilians I expected much better professionalism and understanding.

I came to Community Law Dunedin for support after a serious incident where my family and I experienced discrimination. Unfortunately, the service I received was very disappointing. I felt dismissed, unheard, and not taken seriously. Instead of helping us understand our rights or supporting us, the advice we got was very general and did not consider the discrimination and trauma we faced. This made us feel even more unsupported, especially as a sameone who expected fairness and protection. This is not the professionalism or community support I hoped for. I hope Community Law improves the way they treat people who come to them in vulnerable situations.

Mr. Campbell ★★★★★
Friendly and welcoming when I visited the service. They were actually still dealing with matters after the closing hours which was quite cool to see. I didn't end up requiring anything after registration, but I'm certain that they'd have been most helpful with my issue.

Restrictive. Although I took in most evidence, I left uninformed and more confused. One student than another entered the room after they saw my evidence. Why?

I am a volunter solicitor with this organisation. I, and about 30 others, give our time for free. The DCLC also employs 3 full time lawyers. All of them, and the volunteers, have extensive experience across differing fields of law.
