Good location and big parking area. Staff are friendly and a wide variety of products are available. But the price a little high than other supermarkets sometimes.
This New World is so pretty. The decorations for Christmas and the overall theme of the place was so lovely. I didn’t have much interaction with the staff so I can’t say anything about that. But the supermarket was well stocked and easy to navigate.
I was served by a very lovely and professional young lady named janese and I just had to leave a review about her, she went out of her way to ask me how my day was and followed up asking about how my kids were when I had told her they’re in hospital, very lovely person!!
I visited Hastings New World on 12/10/2025 to buy a birthday cake. When I asked for help, I was told the staff was on break, so I had to wait a long time. Later, a staff member returned and told me to go to the deli section for assistance. When I asked the deli staff to write a name on the birthday cake, she said no and told me that if I wanted that service, I should have come in the morning. I said okay, no worries, but because of the long wait, I decided to cancel the cake. The deli chef also didn’t know how to pack the cake properly and behaved very rudely. I was very disappointed with the service and attitude in the deli section. I hope this feedback helps improve customer service in the future.
Top Notch New World. The absolute BEST we've been to. Excellent variety of cheeses and wines. Fruit and veges superb quality. Huge delicatesan and bakery. Clean, tidy, friendly staff. Keep up the good work. You deserve a medal!

Fantastic selection of quality groceries especially cheeses. You do have to pay top dollar though.
The guy with curly hair and glasses working at the lottery store today( June 5th around 12:20pm) was so rude and racist. He was demanding us to provide original passport before buying the scratchers but couldn’t provide any reason for it. He was talking to us with a condescending and offensive manner, with rolling eyes too, which was really obnoxious and brought us the worst customer service experience ever. NZ is a nice country with great people, but he is definitely not one of them.
Had my wedding the past weekend and had my flowers done by the amazing and hard working florist Maria at New World Hastings. When planning weddings, people often skip over supermarkets - but I will be recommending New World Hastings to everyone for all their floral needs! Thank you so much, they're absolutely beautiful and exactly what I wanted.
