Entered the store. Shop assistant directed us to mens and women's section. Two minutes into browsing my son must have got curious about the display counter at the entrance and opened the stock drawer to peak. The shop assistant lady went to my son and told him that if he opens them she will have to ask him to leave. Obviously I left the store at that moment but I did tell her that his just a child and she could have used better words. She should also have spoken to me about it if that silly thing was even a issue. ( this is the display station which has space for surplus stock at the bottom.) I have been in the service industry all my life but this individual is an absolute disgrace to the profession. Such pathetic behavior from a established retail outlet like this is unbecoming and truly a shame. This truly made me angry that someone would treat my child like that as he seemed upset after that. But I remind myself I have to take the civilized route here and leave this review, unlike the method displayed by the shop assistant. TO THE "LADY" ( I would use a very different but rather suiting word) YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK TO MY SON LIKE THAT. YOU HAD BETTER GET THAT IN YOUR HEAD RIGHT.
The quality of clothing is far superior than anywhere else I know I Of in Dunedin. The service is spot on
Say you buy a sweatshirt for $80, reduced from over a hundred, and after wearing it three times a hole appears, would you want to exchange it or get a refund? I'm guessing the answer is yes. So don't go here. They will make a huge drama of it, ask two different managers and then finally refuse to do anything by implying that it's your fault (including by suggesting that washing it three times is three often, sorry mate but if your clothes fall apart after three washes they aren't very good). How they expect to generate return custom when they take no responsibility for their products is beyond me. They only get one star because the style of the clothes is unique and the people who work there are very nice, but the policy concerning refunds and exchanges is disgusting. In short, as far as I'm concerned its all style and no substance. (N.B. if you're going to reply saying I made the hole, I didn't. Stop digging the hole you're in, it won't help).

Great clothing that's unlike anything you can buy and fantastic service in store too.
Alchemy had some of the finest outdoor oriented clothes available today. Great fabrics careful chosen for performance and sustainability fashionably cut and completely functional. The staff is incredibly helpful and very friendly. Always a pleasure shopping here!
