   AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE I ordered a bright, mixed-shade, deluxe-sized bouquet and some luxury chocolates costing $155 for my Sister's birthday. She received a posie of yellow and crimson flowers that look thrown together, and Roses chocolates that cost $3.53 at PaknSave. Here's the Petals Network response when I complained: Dear Fiona Thank you for notifying us of your concerns with your order sent. I would like to take this opportunity to apologise most sincerely for any disappointment caused. Having viewed your photo the order is not to value and missing the carnations and also the colour palette has not been adhered to, hot pink, peach/orange, purple and green colour palette, for the item you had chosen. As a result of the lack of value in part to the standard we expect, we have now made arrangements to refund you 50% of the total order value, less the cost of the chocolates and these funds will be credited to you shortly. With regard to the chocolates, the images on our site are simply that, a display image that reflects a box of chocolates, a teddy bear or bottle of wine etc. They are not indicative of the end product. Your purchase of the regular chocolates means that the florist should have provided you with a 220g box of chocolates and yet I can see they provided you with a 225g box and whilst you indicate you expected something more than a Cadbury selections option, the florist hasn’t done anything wrong choosing this selection and as such I am unable to offer you a refund for the chocolates. Thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to our attention in order for us to educate our florist. Instead of refunding me 50% of the flowers, please could you send the correct flowers per the order to my sister? It’s no use me getting half the money back – my sister needs to receive the flowers she deserves and which I paid for. As for the chocolates – I disagree with your analysis that a display image isn’t representative of the real product, as all the images on your website are display images. And how can a florist justify sending a $3.53 box of chocolates that I paid $20 for? The cost of $20 supports the belief that the chocolates will be far more exclusive than everyday Roses chocolates. Please confirm that my sister will receive the correct floral bouquet so I don’t have to share my bad experience on social media. In this case the flowers delivered are of good quality and the colour palette was adhered for this arrangement. The 50% refund reflects the difference in price of the deluxe size you have ordered and the item the recipient has received, and we believe this is the fairest outcome for yourself and our sending florist. I understand you may not be happy with this outcome but please be assured we have assessed your concerns thoroughly. We have proceeded with the refund already offered. Kind regards, Wendy| Quality Petals Network I received the refund three days later, BUT Dunedin Florist didn't care a scrap about the people involved in the flower transaction and are obviously trying to cut corners, which is not in the true spirit of flower giving, and the Petals Network support the shoddy florists in their network. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

   Would not recommend. They were delivered, and on time, but they were definitely worth the $80. You can buy a better bunch of flowers, for half the price at Pak n Save. Times are tough for everyone, so it is not nice to be ripped off. Very disappointed.

   If there was a category for no stars this would be selected. My family was the recipient of a few floral arrangements from family and close friends from this business for a bereavement. I do not usually place reviews. I didn't want the same thing to happen to someone else. Therefore, I write this on behalf of disappointed family / friends. This business has since changed ownership. The previous owner was respected and honest. We are extremely disappointed the arrangements sent were not worth the value paid ie.over $150 especially when the person sending these as gift does not see end product. The ceramic planter actually was only cardboard & arrangement had minimal flowers. Don't be fooled by their photos. I would purchase elsewhere. There are definitely other more creditable florists in Dunedin. It is not worth the hassle/ time consuming exercise. Also, they are a florist in the Petals website. BUYER BEWARE!!! Hope this helps.

   These guys do the best flowers at very reasonable prices, very quick turnaround too. When I pop in I can always find something perfect, and when I request delivery over the phone it's always perfect too. Highly recommend.
