Never had an issue here. Good selection of products. I only buy masks for work here and occasionally lollies. Reasonably priced products. Staff are friendly.
The first thing I noticed, and the main reason I came to 'Two Dollars and Things,' was the absence of costumes. This store, previously known as dollar king used to be my go-to for last-minute costumes—kids’ sizes, adult sizes, everything. I headed straight to the right, where the wall of costumes used to be, but there was nothing. I strolled around the store, hoping I’d missed it, only to realize they’d completely removed the costumes. Now, there’s no affordable place in Napier for quick costume purchases without paying exorbitant prices elsewhere. It's frustrating to lose that unique offering to yet another dollar store. As I wandered the shop, I also realized they’d gotten rid of the joke and gag gift section. It used to be a great spot for milestone birthdays—30ths, 40ths, 21sts—where you could find novelty mugs, naughty cakes, and other gag gifts that made those celebrations memorable. They even had quirky items like tiny ziplock bags and small scales, perfect for sharing ‘itty bitty sandwiches’ with friends and family. Now, all of that is gone, and we’re left shopping on sites like Timo or AliExpress, sending our money overseas instead of keeping it local. It’s disappointing to see what was once a unique store, full of character, turned into just another dollar shop. Napier doesn’t need more of the same—we need variety, and this store has lost its charm
Dollar King is no more, so I think a rebranding on Google is needed. It's now called 2 Dollar things + It's a shop you visit if you can't be bothered waiting on those Wish deliveries because nearly everything on Wish is here.
Very friendly staff. Always tidy when I go shopping. I often visit the tool section b4 going to a hardware store.
Very good store with a great deal inside. Amazing what they stock! Staff helpful.
A good place if you need anything and everything made from plastic, especially dressing up items and kitchen items. They also have a section with ornaments and a lot of wrapping papers and things for parties.
Great customer service, polite staff, has everything you need from a dollar store like this.
You can get a huge variety of things here. Mostly cheap imported goods from Asia. Quality of product variable but is good value for money in most cases. They have gift ware, diy section, party gear, dress ups, pet products, haberdashery, make up, toiletries, cards and wrapping paper etc etc. Staff always helpful and service great
