We had a fantastic boat trip to Quarantine Island and a walk about looking at the history there. Rachel was great accommodating us at the last hour. Highly recommend +++
Rachel checked in with us as soon as Iād made a booking to let us know about the impending wind warning. We ended up getting a perfectly timed earlier ride, which made our day. Rachel is a superb skipper, and told us all about the history of the harbour. Port to port cruises is one of those brilliant authentic local businesses that all customers will love.
We were staying in the Portobello area and wanted to cycle the Harbour Loop, we booked Port to Port to take us and our bikes across to Port Chalmers ( bookings are advised) and this was a great choice, Rachel is very helpful and gives a commentary as you cross the harbour. For the service provided the pricing is very reasonable and makes it an enjoyable day out. Would definitely recommend.
This was an excellent way to spend an afternoon in Port Chalmers. Rachel was a great guide and found us lots of wildlife including sea lions, fur seals, albatrosses, dolphins and even penguins. Definitely worth the cost.
We set off for our Albatross, Wildlife, and Harbour Cruise in the pouring rain. But while our clothes were dampened, our spirits were not!! From the time we turned the corner out of Back Beach, we saw terns, shags, and a variety of gulls. Then within a few minutes there were New Zealand fur seal pups and adults. The day was completed with up close experiences with blue penguins and three species of albatross. Captain Rachel is top notch. She maintains a tidy, comfortable boat, and is not afraid to burn some fuel to ensure that her passengers had a fantastic day! We went much further out into the beautiful Pacific than expected. And it was SO worth it!! Highly recommend if you're in Port Chalmers. Our booking was well within the time parameters of our Holland America cruise port stop.
This was a fantastic trip on a beautiful day in late Feb we saw Sea Lions, Albatrosses, seals and a couple of penguins. A very knowledgeable skipper Rachel is funny and interesting. Would definitely recommend.
I had to cancel my tour the morning of due to the cruise I was on longer being able to stop at Dunedin (due to bad weather). I contacted the company and liaised with Rachel who cancelled the tour and gave a full refund despite the last minute notice. She responded promptly and was very kind. Due to this I highly recommend their tours and will be re-booking with them when I try to visit Dunedin again in the future.
100% recommend this tour, we had a great trip. Hugely informative and we were able to see awesome wildlife. The albatross were spectacular. Rachel and her son were lovely and very knowledgeable, I particularly enjoyed playing spot the penguin!! PENGUIN!! Lots of fun, thank you!
We had a great experience! Rachel is professional, safety conscious, knows the area and shows genuine care for the welfare of the animals. I was a bit dubious about the weather, after Rachel reassured me, we set off. Even though I am a local I learned a lot from her. We located a sealion with something wrapped around its neck, Rachel was immediately talking to the Department of Conservation. Obviously, you cannot guarantee which species will be seen, we were lucky and saw most. I would highly recommend this charter to tourists and locals alike.
Absolutely LOVED our two-hour wildlife cruise. We saw everything from seals and Otago shags to albatross. A once-in-a-lifetime experience. Absolutely brilliant. Rachel was a wonderful host and guide and to be able to see albatross, in the wild, sweeping over the waves - it was like a David Attenborough documentary come to life. Please, if you only ever do one thing in Dunedin, make it this. It's great for kids too! Rachel was great with our boy, and he's five.
