   I've had nothing but great experiences here as my Doctor Richard Buckby is amazing along with the staff . Although today when I rang (27/6/25 , 8.39am) to enquire and seek help and switch Doctors from Maori Hill Clinic for my 4yr old boy who's been going through a tough time with his respiratory system . Thinking " my medical centre is amazing and my Doc will know what to do or nurses for that matter" as ive been with them for over 14yrs and their 100% fantastic . I was met by a very rude lady who turned me away quite harshly then proceeded to hang up on me , no explanation just a rude "we're not taking on anymore clients". I'm a single father and when it comes to children's health , emotions can run high especially when their having breathing problems . To this lady I say "You are the 1st point of contact , you had no empathy /sympathy for my 4yr old son . Very rudely turned me away then hung up on me . This review isn't for the centre , it's solely for her . You work in an environment where care and kindness go along way . Please do better .

   I had cancer and was diagnosed by Shona, and went through the process and eventual cure with her help. I have since been told by a very officious receptionist that " she doesn't have regular patients" I never minded getting passed around from doctor to doctor before. Since that experience, and considering I asked for and was told I had an appointment with Shona , I was very disturbed that I was told on arriving that I was seeing someone else , especially galling when two other people came in and we're told " Shona will be with you shortly". I don't appreciate this sort of BS and will look for another doctor .

   While living in dunedin, New Zealand from 2013 to 2018, I was under the supervision of GP Dr. Richard Buckby. He was such an empathetic & excellently skilled medical professional that, even after 5 years of coming back to my country Bangladesh, I still do not feel totally dependent as like him regarding any of my health issues. Though there are thousands of medical professionals here in my city of living Dhaka. My hearty gratitude to all the members of Middleborough medical centre. Regards.

   Doctors are super nice and helpful but one receptionist is super rude and mean. I called for a change of appointment. First time nobody picked up. Second time she hanged me up before I could make another appointment. She hanged me up when I was still speaking!!!! I just completed ‘sorry I couldn’t make it today and...’. She said ‘yeah right’ and hanged up!!!! Also. No confirmation text message 24h before the appointment time as before. That’s part of the reason I missed the appointment....and I never missed any appointment before...

   My new doctor is absolutely fantastic. I have never met a doctor so on to it. I had been sick for 3 months and the other doctor's I had seen in Christchurch before I moved here couldn't seen to get me better. I seen Dr Jan Cottle twice and within 1 month all my symptoms had gone. Thanks to doc and there lovely staff for making me welcome.
