Transferred to this medical center about a year ago. What a terrible mistake and waste of time that was. The staff are rude and the doctors are incompetent. For the sake of your health, go somewhere else.

Had a doctor's appointment yesterday on the 11th April 2024 and reported to reception on arrival. After waiting an hour I went back to reception and asked if I was going to be seen today. Receptionist that I reported to on arrival then asked me if I had reported earlier on arrival, which I said that I had and the time that I had arrived (before my appointment time). She left the reception desk for about 5 minutes to find out what was going on and came back and said that it would be about another 10 minutes and asked if was I willing to wait, which I said I would. After waiting 20 minutes I asked whether it would be much longer that I would have to wait and was told that the doctor still had a patient and it shouldn't be much longer. My 10 minute wait ended up being 45 minutes, so I ended up waiting 1 hour 45 minutes in total. I did get an apology but feel that being told by the receptionist that I reported to initially, that I shouldn't have left it that long to let her know that I waiting, wasn't particularly helpful and didn't change the waiting situation and it really isn't good enough! If I could give zero star's to Saddleview Health Centre I would. Three months after I posted my original review in April, I left a message on the prescription line for a repeat on my prescriptions. To my shock and horror they obviously hadn't listened to my instructions and sent the prescriptions to another pharmacy, where I would've had to pay prescription charges. I informed the Practice Manager of this error by email and asked for my prescriptions to be sent to the correct pharmacy, as I wasn't going to pay to pick them up. I wasn't impressed to receive a phone call from the correct pharmacy later the same day, telling me that they couldn't fill my script's because they had already been filled at a different pharmacy, and that I would have to contact them to cancel them, so that they could fill them for me. Not only did Saddleview Health Centre staff send my prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy, they also neglected to inform the wrong pharmacy of the error that THEY HAD MADE and cancel the prescriptions, so that the correct pharmacy could fill them. It shouldn't have to be up to the patients to fix their cock ups for them. Needless to say, I am totally fed up with the incompetence of Saddleview Health Centre, so won't be going back and will be enrolling at another Medical Practice.

Actual medical staff are great but not at all suprised to see multiple complaints about the glorified gate guards at the front desk. Didnt realize they were also qualified to provide unsolicited advice on my life and when i should make appointments. I sympathize that there is a shortage on doctors in nz however telling me im basically SOL is not appreciated. And in previous instances at the old building, loudly and condescendingly asking me my personal details such as address and occupation in the reception area in front of other patients. Did they all get that treatment as well or was it just for me? To their credit, the one i spoke with did end up helping me get my medication but it would have been far more appreciated without the condescending tone. Will be switching practices ASAP. To reiterate, absolutely no issues with the doctors, nurses, and pharmacists.

This was my family childhood doctors and it definitely went downhill over the years. Reception incredibly rude, appointments hard to get, doctors not up to standard. Multiple bad experiences where my medical concerns were dismissed and mistakes were made. Have since changed medical centres to a much better centre.

Iβd give zero stars if it was possible. All the fantastic GPs (Dr Thompson, Dr Then, Dr Foster) have left and itβs not hard to see why, GP shortage or not the current GPs canβt do their job - important referrals never sent on more than one occasion for my family alone, special mention to Dr. Windfhur who lets her personal opinions, outdated ideas and old school thinking get in the way of properly advising, assessing and diagnosing clients, receptionists and management are not worth your time and seem to forget theyβre in a customer service role - with the exception of Mel who tries her best, some nursing staff are lovely however, on multiple occasions appointments have been βmadeβ at a nursing level which were never actually booked. The list goes on, avoid at all costs, currently on a waiting list to move practices unless there is a complete shake up of this place but sadly I donβt think a fancy new building will bring that. Itβs only a matter of time before something terrible comes of the way this place is run and the absolute communication breakdown this place is experiencing.

Avoid at all costs. Dr Astrid Windfur, the sole owner of the practice, tried very hard to persuade me to stop taking my contraceptive pills, claiming they were as harmful to me as smoking. Subsequently found out she's a staunch catholic. Bias much?

0 Stars if I could. I have been going for 33 years, they still can't spell my name correctly. I can never get an appointment when I need one. Multiple family members of mine have been misdiagnosed with serious consequences. But mostly recently I have issues with prescriptions for my young child. When I rang for the 6th time about a prescription, I was told rather rudely that my child's dad was given a physical copy (he was not) to then be told oh no they sent that out to a chemist that morning (to the wrong chemist for the 2nd time). This was after being spoken down to on the day of the appointment and being blamed for being put in the wrong waiting room. Always long wait times for a short appointment, Drs are always running late. Reception staff are rude and blunt. I would change Doctors if I could but with everywhere being fully booked there is no alternative.

Some of the reception staff are quite unfriendly, and often get their facts wrong, such as immigration status and vaccination status - important things! My doctor is also quite dismissive and rude, I often get the impression they are telling me off, and overly focused on process rather than care. My doctor is always late to appointments, even early in the day. Finally (and in fairness this may be an SDHB rule rather than GIMC), I don't agree with some of the charges, such as $45 for a 15 minute appointment, just so that my GP can have me sitting next to her whilst she reads through my blood test results. Do that on your own time please. I did not need to be there, and it seems like money-grabbing to me.
