    Medical staff at this facility needs looked especially the transition one at this health centre that's supporting my partner behind male to female transition after he was told he was no longer doing this treatment while I was at the appointment with him, a number of years later this particular doctor is handing out medication as he pleases, prescribing HRT medication without a actual assessment first, isn't a very good look & extremely unprofessional service! How can someone possibly be subscribed medications on and off over a period of 7+ years with a substantial gap in-between with No medication at all?

    I do not recommend Dr Hamilton for women’s health concerns. Dr Hamilton has lacked empathy and I have felt undermined. Dr Hamilton did not take my concerns seriously. His body language was insulting and did not have the ability to cover his distaste in my wishes to follow up. For example: I asked for a further evaluation of the referral process to see a gynaecologist within Ōtepoti - to which he then asked me if I had a conspiracy against seeking a gyno at Albany St medical centre. ???? For a patient to seek clarification as well as a second opinion within healthcare is of standard practice. Dr Hamiltons manner was unprofessional and I felt truly disrespected in how he handled my concerns as well as my results. In 2023 I also visited a Dr McNaughton who was filling in for Dr Hamilton on leave. After discussing options for contraceptive Dr McNaughton had the audacity to discuss β€œmy role as a woman and how my stance on birth control would change as the world needs populating”. Disgusting. When I next returned to Dr Hamilton I tried to discuss this conversation and it was brushed off. I will not be returning as a patient.

    Transferred to this practice nearly a year ago. GP is Matthew Hamilton. Best move we ever made; highly professional, gets things done, extremely effective. The whole practice seems to hum with quiet efficiency. There is never long to wait for an appointment. Can't say I have ever experienced or witnessed any of the negatives complained of by other reviewers.

    My wife had an appointment booked and they cancelled it without any communication. We came back from Holiday several days early to attend. We had also planned to get our records transferred to a chch GP as we were moving in a months time, so had let them know to be proactive. I can see how this may have happened, but to cancel any existing booked appointment without any communication. The resolution offered was to be treated at casual rates and rebooked in another month's time (after Xmas). This was unacceptable. We would have been happy to pay extra but can't wait 4 or 5 weeks to be seen. Really disappointing.

    Since I moved from my home country without English skills to communicate properly, Dr. Cynthia has been my GP (about 8 years). She is the most patient and respectful person, very professional, we recommend Albany 100% She is very good at listening and taking care of your health. I have never felt rejected by Dr. quite the contrary, she has been a great support in our family.

    Emailed the practice & was told I could go on Dr Cynthia's Buchanan waitlist which would be about a months wait as the books were currently full, that was fine. I fill out the enrollment form & the only thing I can deduce is that Cynthia either doesn't like mental health patients or doesn't know how to work with them as a GP because suddenly after disclosing I had mental health issues there was "no waitlist".... Great way to make someone feel WORSE about their mental health

    I was looking for a new doctor, and had them recommended. Their website stated they welcome new enrolments, so I gave them a call. The receptionist answered without even a "hello" and was super rude when I asked her about enrolling. They aren't accepting new patients, which is fine, she was just ridiculous in her attitude and the conversation was less than 30 secs long! Can't speak to the quality of the doctors, but if the receptionist is that rude then I'm happy not to go there.
