Been coming here for many years to rent skis and boots. Fast service and the price is reasonable. The staff are very happy to help. Edge to Edge is very convenient for those living at Skotel
Shocked and disappointed to say the least! I hired a snow board, of which the bindings were horrendous - multiple times they kept coming undone and myself, nor anyone else was able to do them up. When I tried to politely address the issue at the hire desk I was dismissed with aggression. I was actually told to shut up by the lady with the blond curly hair. I would definitely not recommend hiring here and I only hope in the future, issues are handled with more professionalism.
Unfortunately the equipment is sub par and faulty. We hired 3 snowboards 2 of which had faulty bindings, unknown before the trip to the mountain. I suggest hiring from on the mountain where issues can be rectified. Complaints are dealt with aggressively and extremely unprofessionally.
Highly recommend and would always go again to hire hiking boots: I've never hired hiking shoes in my life and didn't think I would ever do so. However, a couple of weeks ago, I was at the bottom of Mount Ruapehu and my hiking shoes at home! I'm so glad Edge to Edge was able to help: I tried one shoe after the other until they found the shoe that fits my feet. The shoes got me to the plateau and back down again - my legs were sore (as expected) but my feet ready to keep walking! Thanks heaps!
Little to no help in finding the right size of hiking shoes. It was clear we are unseasoned hikers (from the many questions we asked) and it resulted in me having a size too small. This gave me 3 huge blisters. Also the opening hours reported were wrong so we had to wait 30 min for someone to show up. All in all I wasnt too happy with service but my wife really enjoyed the shoes
Very positive experience at Edge 2 Edge! There is a wide variety of gear to select from, catering to whatever it is you want to do on the mountain i.e. skiing, snowboarding, climbing. For my partner and I, it was skiing, and we were rookies. Fortunately for us the shop provided everything we needed at an affordable price and the staff were a pleasure to deal with, very friendly and helpful. It's easy to see why they have been in business for so long. Thank you very much for making our trip to Ruapehu so much easier! Highly recommended!
