   Gosh, it’s rather sad. I’ve shopped at Plume since I was a super thin young thing, multiple purchases and many lovely staff I’ve dealt with; alas - I’m neither super slim nor young no more… today I went upstairs on a whim - and out of a side door came a blank faced semi goth looking fashionista babe in her maybe late 20s; who first of all blanked me as she strode past me perusing, then to my surprise after thinking to myself, poor manners, no class, she turned and uttered ‘do you need any help?’ ‘No thanks, I’m just browsing,’ I replied. Not content with this she turned to me, looked me up and down (I kid you not, this is not my first rodeo - so to speak) and she slurred, ‘we do have these in other sizes’…. Oh.My.God. You rude should-not-be-working in retail well I never (I’m a 10-12-14 - depends on the label but…. ) I won’t return to Plume. And I recommend, if you’re not a wannabe Dunedin gothic hipster aged under 27 - that you don’t either, if you wish to be treated with basic manners and respect. The OG’s of Plume would turn in their gorgeously black swathed, fine wool, Dunedin (I’m seventh generation Scottish forebears) authentic graves. The lovely young guy downstairs was awesome, polite, helpful and he is a credit to the store. This review isn’t about him.

   Lots of employees in the store, none who wanted to offer help. Just a greeting would be nice. A well dressed woman walked in and multiple staff members were happy to greet her! I always dress down when intending to spend money for that exact reason. I wont support a business who is going to discriminate based on looks.

   I have had issues with fabric quality twice at this store. The latest one was a top that had a tiny hole I noticed after wearing and washing it once. When I took it in the staff were arrogant and unhelpful saying it was my fault as no one else had complained about that particular line. They reported it is not their policy to replace/ refund if a garment has been worn. For such a quintessentially Dunedin brand I would expect good quality and good customer service....come on guys!
