   In a previous life before shifting from Wellington to Christchurch, I built a house in Silverstream UH and got to know Resene staff in LH well. I had distinctive wood windows and trims all painted in dark colours and after an initial white sealer primer Resene staff tinted the undercoat to aid in the coverage over the initial white sealer. I've been recently involved in the exterior renovation of an old house in Sumner and for paint I patronized the Resene Colour Shop at Ferrymead. However a few days ago a staff member effectively neutralized my good feelings about their services. I asked the male shop assistant if he could tint a $40+ tin of white undercoat with my final colour....and he simply refused point blank. "We don't tint undercoat!" My question to Resene is why behave with such arrogance. I would have easily paid a small tint fee if you can't afford to cover it with your normal high retail prices for paint. .
