   Dropped in for a session whilst travelling through Christchurch and was given a warm welcome on arrival, as a brown belt who has trained across the world I highly recommend this gym for travellers and locals. The facilities are fantastic with a great sized mat area, gym facilities, changing rooms and sauna and ice bath. The instructors are of a very high standard and show excellent techniques during the classes suitable for beginner and advanced grapplers. There is also fantastic youth team that has competed and won multiple national titles. If you're interested in getting into grappling, this is the place!

   Our 6yo girl has been at Oceanside for about 4 months and she loves it. The coaches are the most supportive, welcoming and caring people you'll ever meet. Pair that with some good old fashioned discipline to keep them in line / listening while training and you've got the perfect combo. They do regular awards and grading to keep the feeling of progress up. Such a good a vibe and atmosphere. Awesome music. You'll definitely not regret joining.

   It doesn't get better than Oceanside. Here's a couple of key reasons why; The Facility - The facility is top notch. There's recovery equipment, huge amount of space, showering/changing areas and a seating area for guests. It's also super clean, all of the time which is extremely important in this sport. The coaches/staff - There is always someone who knows what they are doing, teaching the class. It's one thing to be good at the art, but to teach it is another skill entirely. These guys nail every aspect. The people - The people here genuinely do want to help you get better. Whether you come here as a hobbyist or are competition focused, everyone here will bring the best out of you every single day. The energy - Oceanside is just fun. No egos. No anger. Just people who share a common interest/interests looking to unwind and test their metal. Oceanside is one of a kind. Thanks team. Osu.

   We absolutely adore Oceanside Jiu Jitsu! Our 5-year-old son has always been a little shy and timid, but since joining, he’s blossomed with so much more confidence. He truly feels the beautiful, positive energy the moment he walks through the door. It’s a space where he feels safe, supported, and genuinely happy and confident! As parents, that means the world to us. The gym is also incredibly clean and well cared for, which reflects the love and pride they put into everything. The community here is something special - so kind, welcoming, and full of heart. We feel so lucky to be part of it. Can’t recommend it enough!

   i visited this gym during a 1 week trip to christchurch and was warmly welcomed by everyone at the gym both coaches and students. i rarely train no-gi so was excited to join their classes, and it’s easier travelling with no gi gear too! i got a lot of value from the classes and instructions. the gym emphasised a lot on hygiene and cleanliness as well. they have all the facilities you need and more like showers, toilets, separate women and men changing rooms, sauna and ice bath! very cool gym, highly recommend that everyone check them out!

   Moved to Christchurch from Canada and needed a place to train. Oceanside was extremely welcoming, with great instructors and training partners. Also, the facilities are amazing! Huge mat for rolling, weight room for gains and sauna for recovery. This place is dope. 10/10

   I have just recently joined Oceanside Jiu Jitsu and cannot recommend this gym enough, super supportive community, expert instructors, and an environment that fosters personal growth. Regardless of skill level everyone is genuinely supportive and eager to help one another grow. Moreover, the gym is clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped including a weights gym, sauna, ice bath etc.
