   Lovely shop to buy from, such gorgeous & unique items! Wanted to buy a jacket online but unfortunately the size I wanted just sold before I could get it! The lovely staff member sent me a picture of her wearing the size smaller so I could see it on, which I bought and thankfully fits perfectly!! I am so happy with the service and would recommend as she will help with any queries you have. Keep up the amazing work!- Emma xx

   I had a really unfortunate experience here and would love the owners to know about what the consumer is experiencing. I’m a kiwi visiting family in NZ and enjoyed the Tannery as a whole on my visit here. However shopping at this store was a real let down. I don’t usually write reviews, but was encouraged to do so by another clothing shop owner in the area when they heard my story. This shop owner also told me they had heard of other customers unhappy with how they were treated by the manager in Uncommon. On Monday, I bought a bag for cash thinking it would suit, but when I got to my car and pulled it out, I realized it just wasn’t right for me - i also thought i had purchased a leather item, which I realized after purchase, it was actually synthetic. I went back in and explained my mistake - less than 10 minutes went by in all. The manager remained arrogantly sitting on a lounge chair in the corner of the store while speaking to me, still on her computer, legs crossed and simply said “sorry, we don’t do refunds in NZ”. I asked her since i was only visiting, could she make an exception on that rule. That would be a “no” she replied. I asked if she could ask the owners if they would make an exception - it had been only 10 minutes and I paid cash.. so there were no credit card fees involved, however it was still a hard and this time a rude “no”. I’ve probably told a dozen people in CHCH about my experience now and I continue to mention it when I’m shopping about - partly to make sure there is a return policy or not - which I might add is in fact done at stores in NZ - at least at the stores that value customer service and want repeat business. Perhaps its time for some customer service and management training at the Uncommon store.

   Couldn’t recommend Uncommon anymore! Love their range of clothing, shoes and jewellery that is always on trend. Amazing customer service experiences both in store and online. All the staff are extremely helpful and will go the extra mile for their customers. The website is also really user friendly and easy to navigate!
