   Absolutely love Café Frans! The coffee is always perfect, the food fresh and delicious, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. It’s my go-to spot for a relaxing breakfast or a quick coffee . Highly recommended!

   The ham in my sandwich had been folded over at the front to make it look fuller, the same trick low grade bakery’s use, and the bread was stale. The cake was $8.50 and was so sugary and tasteless that I couldn’t even eat half of it. It’s fallen far from the Frans that was well known for its warm welcome, beautiful pastas and salads that would line the front cabinet and freshly made sweets. Now you have to lift a piece of cling wrap and be presented with a 5 day old cake.

   Have lived on Cambridge for over 30yrs, and have regularly eaten there in the past, after 2yrs absent while visiting decided to lunch there, much to my disappointment the food was lack lustre. The table was in need of thorough clean. we had club sandwich, asparagus roll & pot of tea.Sad considering Frans food was always superior along with the surroundings & atmosphere.

   For me a very likeable cafe with lots of character and friendly and helpful staff. Be prepared though for some degree of eccentricity with premises and furniture. Its in an old building that some would consider run down. We found it charming with lots of old sofas and artifacts. Highly recommended for the adventurous.
