Vinny at Canterbury Elevators Ltd helped us out on earthquake repairs and reinstatement works at the eight storey former IRD Building in Christchurch. This involved a complex structural repair programme with multiple contractors requiring access to the lift shaft to complete repair works, whilst maintaining uninterrupted access to at least one operating service lift throughout. Vinny assisted through planning, detailed programming and engagement in risk assessment and safety processes to ensure we were able to complete the work without incident. His excellent communication and professionalism enabled us to get on with works, maintaining lift access to other levels, all the while confident that workers in the lift pit area were safely isolated and supervised throughout.
