Best overnight stay my wife and I have experienced in ages. Well-appointed room with all the necessary facilities - and a few thoughtful extras that added that special, country hospitality touch. Wonderful farm scenes to wake up to, complete with birdsong and an array of animals to observe. Highly recommended overnight stay for those seeking country peace 'n quiet. Yakin, our host, was friendly, informative and attentive. Couldn't wish for more.

The rooms are clean and spacious and the host is very welcoming. The glass entrance door is a bit odd as it means you have to draw a clunky blind for privacy. The llamas are cool, but their presence and that of other livestock means there are a lot of flies. No screens in the windows so you choose flies or ventilation. The WiFi is a bit patchy. Property entrance off the 100 km/h divided highway SH1 is a bit tricky. Although close to this busy road, there was no traffic noise in the rooms.

Me and my mom really enjoy this experience. We had a good time with these alpaca. The room is clean and there is breakfast in the refrigerator. When we arrived, we were also told that an alpaca named Bobby could kiss us, It was so cute!! Plz bring some bread and feed these alpha if u want.

I had the most delightful stay at this charming bed and breakfast! The rooms were clean, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The host was absolutely lovelyβ€”so warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. The highlight, however, was the breathtaking views; you’re surrounded by nature and can soak in the serenity at every turn. The animals on the property were the cutest little companions, especially "Big Boof," the friendly cow who absolutely loved the snacks I fed herβ€”such a sweet moment! And for any Lord of the Rings fans, it’s only a 20-minute drive to Hobbiton, making it an ideal location for a peaceful getaway while still being close to all the magic. Highly recommend!

My 28 year old daughter and I stayed here for one night and we so enjoyed our stay! It just goes to show you; no matter what age you are, being on a farm and feeding the animals (alpacas) and the turkeys were definitely a highlight, especially coming from Auckland and she had just returned back home from London. It was nice and handy to the the lovely town of Cambridge and we made our way to the Hamilton Gardens the next morning. The rooms were exactly like the photos: updated, very clean, the mountain view was gorgeous and a generous continental breakfast for 2. The host was very friendly and his amazing 90 year father was also hard at work keeping the grounds tidy. Thank you for the lovely avocados as well!

Food, Milk opened and used, empty containers , not replaced for our second breakie . Cutlery etc not adequate . Had to ask for clean plates etc . Below what we expected for B&B . Would not stay again . Untidy property .

Dirty, weird smell, stains on the bedding, toilet seat that was coming off, toilet that needed to be cleaned, potholes in driveway, house and yard needed live, no idea where to go when arrived. Still expensive for what it was. Motorway very close so noisy. We left as quickly as we could in the morning .

The Homestead B&B was absolutely clean, great value for money and great location with stunning views. Very convenient and only short driving distance to Cambridge Town Center, Lake Karapiro, Habbiton Movie Set and other attractions. Mr Yakin, our host was very friendly and accommodating. Overall a wonderful experience staying at The Homestead B&B, and we would stay here again easily! Thank you!

My son enjoyed the time with alpacas and lambs... the house has beutiful interior embracing Thai culture.. owner respects the privacy of guest and at the same time ensures that we were safe and happy during the stay there... I would recommend it 100%..

The stay here was wonderful! The owners could not be more friendlier and welcoming. Throughout our stay it was peace and quiet and with mountain view along with the animals on property were a refreshing and delightful experience. Feel in love with the olden style/rural theme of the house. Would absolutely come back again and highly recommend anyone else to.
