My 18 year old daughter was unable to get the help she needed due to her caseworker Dinah being rude , toxic and verbally abusive toward her . On her very first initial appointment with Dinah & a psychologist my daughter reported to me that she left that app feeling so awful about herself due to condescending treatment & passive aggressive comments made towards her , so after that 1st appointment my daughter was really put off any engagement with hou ora Waikato. Anyway the last straw came on 31/1/25 my daughter had an appointent with the psychiatrist there at 9.30 am , we arrived at 9.27 am, signed into the computer & waited a full 30 minutes to he seen and nobody came out . Seems they rely on a computer system to notify them of clients arrivals ,not once thinking to just pop into the waiting area to check if a patient is there. I asked for assistance , again using the computer ,a worker came out I explain what had happened and she went to find Dinah . Dinah assumed we were late for the app and comes out to the waiting room fuming in full on attack mode and started verbally abusing my daughter in front of me , my daughter just sat there in silence not knowing how to react which must have triggered Dinah even more that she started insulting my daughter with smart gas lighting remarks discriminating against her for bringing me in as a support person etc etc . Also the psychiatrist left to see another client and my daughter never got seen that day despite arriving on time for the appointment. We left hou ora that morning quite traumatized and will definitely be making a complaint !

Really poor communication across the board, don't follow up when they say they are going to and then left us hanging for weeks at a time at one stage with no communication as to what was happening. They also frequently make appointments without even telling you that you have an appointment. Also really hard to get a hold of when you need to speak to them. Once you're actually seen, they're pretty attentive to the needs of the client but other than that have not had the best experience unfortunately
