   I had the privilege of learning dance with Anuradha Aunty for nearly a decade, alternating between group and individual lessons based on my level and needs. As students, we'd have several opportunities to perform throughout the year as we progressed, allowing us to immerse ourselves as much or as little as we preferred. Anu Aunty's warmth makes you feel at home instantly, and her devotion to dance is truly inspiring. As a second-generation immigrant who doesn’t speak Tamil, Bharatanatyam has been one of my strongest connections to my roots, and I’m truly grateful for that. Learning this art form takes dedication, especially in mastering the basics - but the rewards are incredible. Bharatanatyam has given me friendship, taught me discipline, and even the skill of putting on a five-piece costume and a ten-piece jewelry set in under an hour! If you're looking for a teacher who is passionate, patient, and deeply committed to her students, I couldn’t recommend Anu Aunty more.

   I've been learning Bharatanatyam from Guru Anuradha Ambalavanar for just under 10 years, and it’s been an incredible journey. I travel weekly from Ashburton because I love learning from her so much. Her classes are always engaging, fun, and challenging, and you can feel her passion for dance in everything she does. She creates a welcoming atmosphere and is always there to support and guide you, whether you're unsure of something, need extra help or if you're unable to make it for a class. Her understanding and patience make learning easy and enjoyable, and her commitment to preserving the traditional art form is truly inspiring. Learning from my dance teacher has not only improved my dance skills but has also significantly boosted my self-confidence. Even with the long commute, I wouldn’t want to learn from anyone else. If you're looking for a positive, supportive, and enriching dance experience, I can't recommend Bharatanatyam Group of Christchurch enough. Thank you, Anuradha, for all the guidance and joy you bring to each class!

   Indian Classical dance has been a passion all my life. As an adult I was hesitant to enter Bharatanatyam training, but my guru Anuradha Ambalavanar has been an excellent source of confidence and encouragement. Bharatanatyam group of Christchurch provides training to students of all ages and levels. Students get the opportunity to grow in confidence and grace through learning dance choreographies with others at a similar level. I highly recommend Bharatanatyam Group of Christchurch to anyone who wants to enter a journey through Indian Classical dance. Teacher provides both individual and group lessons as per students' comfort.
