I truly appreciate the supportive and motivating guidance provided by my senseis. The facility is well-equipped, with padded mats that ensure safety during training and mirrors that allow for self-correction and improvement. It’s an excellent environment for learning, growth, and personal development.
As a person training here for about two years and having achieved his brown belt recently, i believe this is would change your life if you were passionate and dedicated enough. The dojo is big and sizeable along with some mirrors, mats, bleachers and a toilet. The teachers are skillful and observant, i believe that the three main teachers at the dojo are the best in the region. 5 star dojo.
Dylan has been part of GKR since the age of seven. Today, he proudly achieved his 4th Kyu (Red Belt) - a milestone earned through persistence and hardworking. Naturally quiet and slow to form connections, we have found GKR an environment that supports Dylan confidence, a sense of belonging, and steady personal growth. Very nice. Feels great to do Karate again after 21 years not doing it. Done Shotokan from 1982 to 1994 and received my Shodan (Black Belt) in 1988. Was ones JKA Champ and ones All Style Champ. Received my provisional colours 4 times and attended 4 times the South African Championships representing my province, Northen Free State.
I have my 4 boys going to the night classes, It's affordable which is good. I thought I would only be able to pay for 2 of my boys to go, but i've got them all in there. The one we go to is the family class, 3 nights a week where the adults and their children can do their classes together if they want, I might join them in the near future. My boys are loving going to karate! They never want to miss a class. It's fun and inviting for them, they learn new skills each class and the sensei makes sure they're doing it right. They got their yellow tip last week and a certificate, now they're all excited and can't wait to get a yellow belt. The structure of each class and the discipline the sensei has for the class and children especially, is excellent! It's fun to watch my kids, and I love the chants too. It's like the karate movies. Real neat when you hear them for the first time. Amazing, five stars!!! I highly recommend this place.
Excellent, family friendly classes which are well run. A brilliant way to exercise and improve overall fitness.
This Dojo is a community. I went on holidays recently and my greatest concern was that I’d miss classes here for 2 weeks. Sensei keeps classes varied and fresh, and balances this excellently by ensuring we repeat the basics every time. As a wee female, it’s refreshing to train with all genders. It’s beneficial to have the option of practicing with those who are physically taller and stronger, in terms of building confidence in my own ability to actually defend myself. Also, the atmosphere, although respectful too, is bubbly. It’s just fun to practice martial arts with a lovely bunch of people, with great teachers/Sensei.
