Shop keeper has attitude. When I go up to the counter does not say hello, or when I do say hello they stare at me and say nothing. Not a welcoming place.
Have never had problems here before but experienced really strange and rude comments from the shop owner. Came on to reviews and was relieved to see it wasn't just me. Super intimidating and rude comments. I went in twice within the span of a month both times experienced the same thing. Won't be returning
Shop attendant has an attitude and no customer service skills. He was rude over a simple enquiry about some change, said ‘I needed to use my eyes’. Upon returning to the shop today, 4 days later, I was refused sale and interrogated as to why I thought he was rude. I ended up walking out, wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Until today, the service at four square has been great. As of today though I declare a boycott on four square in that location. All the other four squares are fine. The shopkeeper was short with me over something silly. If you want my business, be polite. I could get a drink 10 metres away at the takeaways, in Matangi.
As locals, we are extremely disappointed with the service we received at this shop. We went in to return a package to the sender and were unsure about some details, so we politely asked for assistance. Instead of helping, the attendant responded with arrogance, making dismissive remarks like "Use your eyes" and "You shouldn't have come down if you weren’t planning to spend money." Ironically, we were planning to purchase small goods and ice cream since it was a hot day, but after such rude treatment, we decided to take our business elsewhere. In the end, we found out we could reuse the same package, which saved us money. Another business ended up benefiting from our purchases instead—one that actually values its customers. As locals, it’s disheartening to experience such poor customer service in our own community. We always try to support local businesses, but after this encounter, we won’t be returning. We have also lodged a formal complaint with Four Square head office regarding this incident, as no customer should be treated this way.
Very rude and not the 1st time. I'd rather go to TAMAHERE! He told me to hurry up with what I wanted because he was on the phone . Will not recommend
Wanted to overcharge me for some sliced gerkins. When I mentioned they were on special he asked "does it matter?" Well it obviously matters to him, he wanted to take an extra dollar off me. Why bother having price tags all if you're going to charge whatever you feel like.
Not sure what the owners problem is... He is rude and unwelcoming every time I visit. Would rather travel to the new Four Square in Tamahere... or even New World in Hillcrest.
I like this store, staff are always friendly and helpful. The owner always remembers me, even though I dont go in often. That speaks of good customer service.
A little pricey but made up with good customer service. Always leave with a smile.
