Visited On the Spot Rolleston and had one of the worst customer service experiences Iโve ever encountered. The lady working at the counter was outright rude, unwelcoming, and displayed behavior that came across as blatantly racist. No greeting, no smile, no basic courtesy just an attitude that made it feel like we were somehow inconveniencing her by purchasing items, as if we were asking for things from her own pocket. This is not how customers should ever be treated. When you step into a store, you expect at least minimal respect and professionalism, not to be made to feel like youโre begging for something youโre paying for. Itโs disgraceful, and frankly, this kind of behavior drives people away from supporting local businesses. Hope the owners read this review and take action, because customers deserve far better.

Iโve had a consistently disappointing experience at the Rolleston On The Spot store, particularly with the customer service. During my recent visit to send a courier, I was met with an unwelcoming and unfriendly attitude from an old lady staff member at the counter. This was not the first time โ Iโve encountered the same behaviour on multiple occasions from the same individual. Her approach comes across as rude and dismissive, and as an immigrant, I couldnโt help but feel that her attitude may have been influenced by bias. I believe all customers deserve to be treated with basic courtesy and respect, regardless of background. Based on my repeated experiences, I would not recommend this store to others.

Very friendly service from all the cashiers, every time Iโve been in even if itโs busy I feel more like a friend than someone theyโre trying to push out the doors, and everyone has always been really helpful whenever i ask about postage :)

I arrived to collect my passport at approximately 6:15 PM. I noticed a staff member engaged in an activity some distance from the counter. After a brief moment, she approached the counter, glanced at me without offering a smile or greeting, and regarded me with a rather unfriendly expression. I attempted to initiate a conversation by asking how she was, but she did not respond. Unsure of how to proceed, I inquired if she was feeling alright. She managed a slight smile before requesting my identification, exclaiming, "Oh my God, what is your last name? Itโs quite lengthy!" Upon returning with my passport, she made light of my name, remarking on its length and suggesting I could use any name I preferred, followed by laughter. Having migrated to this country many years ago, I had never encountered such treatment before, and it nearly brought me to tears. Nevertheless, I felt compelled to stand up for myself and informed her that my long name, rooted in a different culture, was not a subject for ridicule. I also mentioned my intention to leave a review regarding her service. At this point, I noticed her panic as she asked if we could discuss the matter further, to which I firmly replied that it was too late; the damage had already been done. I left feeling very upset and hope that no other migrant has to endure a similar experience. I believe that camera footage would serve as compelling evidence of her behavior towards me.

Got to the store at 4.30 to collect a parcel from nz post. The lady was rude and said that the post van usually arrives at 6pm just as the courier van pulled up. She said it will take her at least 30min to process anything but said it would be safer to just come back after 6pm. Turned up at 6.25 as she said to but was suprised to see an empty store and a small note on the door saying they close at 6pm for holiday hours. Not impressed two wasted trips so far, i wonder what they can do on my third trip? Would recommend hiring some friendly employees that want to help customers.

Went on a Wednesday afternoon 335pm with a NZ post collect card to receive a parcel. I greeted the lady politely and received no response. Tried smiling thinking it might invoke a reaction. She was colder than the ice cream freezer next to her. Went inside with my card, came out and said it isnโt in there. And walked away. Am having the parcel redirected until she gets hit by the customer service bug. If one doesnโt like oneโs employment then one needs to move on to other things perhaps. Terrible form. Awarded one star only because they have a nice ice cream selection that I didnโt buy.

I've been going here for a very long time and the man who works there is lovely, however today I went to pick up a parcel on behalf of a friend and a woman was working. She asked to see ID, and I began trying to say that it wasn't my parcel and ask if it was okay that I pick it up, being very polite the whole time. I got two words out and she literally yelled at me 'I DONT CARE, SHOW ME YOUR ID'. It was horrible, she was so rude and nearly left me in tears. I will not go into the dairy again if she is working. Terrible customer service and people skills. I would give her 0 stars. I give the dairy as a whole 2 stars because the male is always great
