Made a change to my medication and discharged me in the same appointment. No follow-up. Now I will have to wait months to see someone again for no reason. Meanwhile, my condition has been deteriorating as a result of the change. This is after a history of cancelling appointments last minute with no recheduled time, changing my psychiatrist without communicating, and leaving my prescriptions to lapse (despite me repeatedly requesting to be seen so I could renew my prescription). I would have run out of medication if I hadn't repeatedly advocated for myself. They also put me with a registrar who wasn't able to legally prescribe my medication, which was poor management - she was great, but was put in an awkward position that she shouldn't have been. Disgusting practice. They should be ashamed.

I am appalled at the level of incompetency displayed by a regd pshcye nurse employed here. She sent in a text message to a family member that my son was overdue his shot and would require a loading dose. She went on to say that perhaps he would be best suited to being discharged back to his gp and going on to oral treatment. This being contrary to his last discharge from Tiaho Mai. He was is categorized as high risk and was to be under Awhinatia. Not only has she decided to be accountable she failed to ask if there were any reasons why he was late. His father recently had a stroke and that in the aftermath it got overlooked

I was referred to this service 2 weeks ago after being hospitalized for suicide attempt. Contacted them yesterday as I had heard nothing. Was told that I had now been assigned a case worker. Would see a psychiatrist 3 monthly. That I would not have regular contact that as hospital had released me to community - I was basically "healed " now. I dont feel healed!

The district nurses are very care to patients and professional. Reception ladies are also very kind. It opens 7 days a week, even on the public holidays. Plus, there are always plenty parking spaces. I really appreciate their working on my wound care.

Ive been dealing with this mental health center since 2018 and after being told they would get me further help when i needed them last year, instead they discharged me and I had to claw my way back in. 2x being referred here and both times someone has forgotten to assign me a support worker. Took 18 months for them to finally listen to me to get me more help, and by that point i was down to the point of no easy return. Now cause of lockdowns and having no communication or anyone checking in on me, im in an even worse state A lot of poor communication, poor running of the clinic. In the past has been Cancelation of groups without any communication of them returning. Ive had my paperwork go missing. First time i was referred, i had a friend calling them to say i was extremely suicidal and asked for advice (as my GP had told her to ring them). My friend was told just to "support me". Um what?! It would be 9 MONTHS before i would hear anything from them again. I do understand that there is lack of funding and staff. But there is an obvious reason why staff are leaving..... and ive had to go to other clinics who also have funding issues yet can still run extremely well and keep their staff and genuinely want to help. If it had only been over last few months then would of been totally understandable. But when its been almost 4 years and nothing has changed? The only good thing that came out of it was my therapist i ended up with the first time. Its been a right nightmare of almost 4 years and if i could, i would be transferring. But unfortunately not up to me

Awhinatia mental health is useless. I would not reccomend this service to others. As soon as they feel they are finished with you, thats it they wash their hands of you even if you are still technically their patient. I was almost out of meds and a type i was told earlier by my doc i was not to stop abruptly and yet my doc still would not do me a scpript until outside help had to step in. Sudenly They were apologetic and did a script.
