I’m not overly impressed with the services here. I got the earliest appointments as I have to go to work afterwards and I would arrive on time, midwife is late. At my first session they didn’t have my records transferred from botany. Very unorganised. As a first time mum to be, they don’t provide much confidence. I recommend to go to botany maternity unit if you can, they are much better.

If you had 0 stars I would rate this birthing unit exactly that! How do you “mistakenly” put a PLACENTA in the discard freezer after they have told you they want to keep it? There’s nothing you can give that could ever heal the wounds of that happening! I will NEVER step foot in this place due to what happened to that poor family! Do your research because those placenta’s should be going home with every mama & that discard freezer shouldn’t even be a thing! That’s a babies WHENUA! not just something you toss in the trash can.

I was lucky enough to be referred to the lovely Lactation Consultant who runs a clinic here on Wednesdays. She went over and above to assess the situation and come up with a plan on how to help my baby and I going forward. She was highly knowledgeable and supportive and created a really comfortable non judgmental experience! She was also very reassuring that if any further issues were to arise I would be able to get in touch for further support. I would highly recommend getting in touch if you need any breastfeeding support or advice! Thank you so much!

My wife and newborn spent 4 nights here. The midwife's here are super awesome and I couldn't fault them. It was great having the one on one time where they show you and teach you all the important stuff it takes to bring up a newborn. However I was no impressed with one of the cleaners who just walks into the room without knocking or anything and didn't bother closing the door behind them.

The very first thing I would say is, just don't think twice to choose this place as your birthing unit or the place after ur middlemore stay or postnatal care, to be more confident on lactation, handling baby and taking care of yourself all together. This place has got beautiful and supportive midwives who treat you as their own family You get an independent room of your own so that you have ur own good private time with ur bub and for yourself to recover Carleen Paterson(one of the beautiful soul), Shelly, Jamie, Judy, Balvinder Kaur, all these midwives over there are really helpful and understanding and they take very good care...mothers coming in to this birthing unit are blessed with this beautiful souls who are always there to help and take care of your special needs, your baby. If any of the mothers or pregnant women want to prefer or looking for a place where you feel safe and confident, this birthing unit would be the one. The food here is cooked based on your ethnicity and your requirements fulfilling your taste buds as well nutrients for you and your baby. Overall there is nothing to think twice to choose this place for delivering ur baby or being here for few days after delivery.

Welcomed with smiles and warm greetings transferred from hectic Middlemore hospital, it was a relief to be in a quiet area with your own room. Old fashioned with nothing to complain about really. It's my first time here and the staff are approachable and supportive. Even got to use a breast pump because my daughter had trouble latching. Would definitely recommend this place for postnatal care.
