   Our son has been attending New Shoots Matamata for three years, and we are so grateful for the incredible care and support he's received. Not long after he started, he went through some significant developmental changes and was soon after diagnosed with autism. Kaiako across the centre have truly been part of our village - inclusive, understanding and adapting to meet his needs. He's built some beautiful relationships across the team, and even though he's naturally anxious, New Shoots is one of his safe places. Most mornings he's waiting at the front door, eager and excited to go spend the day with his teachers and peers!

   Both of my children, Rocco and Billie Mae, have absolutely flourished at this amazing centre. The growth we've seen in their learning, confidence, and social development has been incredible. The staff are warm, nurturing, and genuinely care about each child’s individual journey. What really sets this place apart is how proactive and involved the management is. They're constantly communicating, engaging with families, and creating interactive opportunities that bring everyone together. You can truly feel the passion and dedication from the whole team. I couldn’t be happier and are so grateful to be part of such a supportive and inspiring environment!

   We moved from Tauranga to Matamata almost a year ago, which meant my 3 year old had to move centres. He settled in so well at New Shoots Matamata and the teachers made him feel so comfortable & welcomed him with open arms. A few months ago my 16 month old started attending and they have been so amazing with him. He is very sensitive but I have always felt so comfortable leaving him in their care. Both my boys are thriving and absolutely love daycare days. Cannot recommend New Shoots Matamata more.

   As a highly qualified and experienced early childhood educator, founder and previous owner of a very highly regarded early learning centre and a visiting grandmother, I have witnessed first hand the inconsistent, unqualified, uninterested, unwelcoming and unengaged teaching and management staff at New Shoots Matamata. I do not recommend this centre to any family that is looking for a nurturing, welcoming, fun, interactive and engaging early learning setting for their child. Thankfully my grandchildren have moved on and the difference in interactive, interested and quality outcomes for them now...and the relationship building and trust with their parents and extended family, within a new setting is incomparable! During my last visit to New Shoots Matamata, I asked many questions about qualified teacher:child ratios, cornflakes given for morning tea, and a young girl with a dummy in her mouth being belittled; not to mention the disinterest and disengagement with myself and my grandson...and I informed the Manager that if I was managing the centre, "I would fire the lot of them!" Please know that quality outcomes for young children only come from qualified, interested and consistent teachers, trusting and nurturing relationships, quality interactions, small group sizes, intentional planning...and a special place with special, loving and caring people!

   The Matamata New Shoots Centre is amazing. It is based on the Pikler Philosophy which so many centres are not aligned to, which is what made me choose this for my kids. The children are our future and if we can give them this type of start it is perfect for their futures. It is not only the facilities but the type of care and resources the kids are exposed to which will help them in developing into great people.

   New shoots matamata is an amazing centre. The facilities are outstanding and the staff second to none. My children love being apart of such a wonderful nurturing environment where they are provided plenty of opportunity to learn about their own abilities, develop new skills and expand their ever growing understanding of the world around them.
