As a male at 35yrs old. I really dont appreciate the Indian lady at self checkout asking for ID. Yes you can ask if people look under 25. But the age for alcohol is 18. So she is asuming that perhaps I look half my age???
The restroom is disgusting! Stop skimping on cleaners. Its basically health n safety Hazzard going in there. Clean up your act New world!
Only new too area ..but after a couple of visits ...I noticed always a happy vibe...loads of varieties...thank you New World .Matamata ..
I came with my wife to buy groceries and we got ourselves some ciders and beers to try. At the cashier, we were asked by some lady for our IDs to prove our age, even though we are in our late 30s, my wife had her wallet with her and showed her ID, I couldn't show mine because I left in the Airbnb we were staying nearby, so I told them to leave by side our drinks, we would pay for the groceries and then head to our airbnb and come back with my passport to show them and buy it. I went to our stay, left my wife and groceries, picked up my passport and went back to buy our beverages. When there, the same lady said I had to bring also my wife's passport because "we were together" I told them, I'm one adult person with my ID in front of them and still being denied. After some back and forth I decided to call the manager, and after explaining that she saw my wife's passport, and then saw my passport, I didn't understood what the problem was and it felt personal/race matter because the lady was looking funny at me the whole time. I'm a very laid back relaxed person, but here for the first time I felt racially discriminated today. I do recommend the supermarket, but they need to put their clerk in check.
I've never felt so disgusted! After purchasing a box of beers I walked outside the supermarket and the box fell apart, Smashing a couple of bottles. Tried to return it but the manager said no sorry you weren't in the supermarket it happened outside, sorry but isn't the parking area still part of New world?
Got to be the nicest New World. I have ever been in. I would love to have this one close to where I live. Excellent range of all items. Fruit and veg, excellent. Meat, excellent. Very clean and tidy layout. With of course willing to help friendly staff. 10 out ten from me.
Nice looking place with really good layout. Spacious aisles and a wide range of products. The best bakery products of any supermarket in the Waikato hands down. Conveniently located as well. Always have a consistent supply of seaweed salad that's the perfect portion to snack on before driving out of the carpark. Come to think of it...it's my favourite supermarket in the Waikato.
One of the best Trader Joe's in Waikato. Their "food" is always fresh, and their Henchmen are always happy to "help" you. I recently had an encounter with one "Latham Barhigh," who was incredibly dude and rizzpectful. Great shop.
Wow, the best rural small town supermarket I've been to. Huge, well laid out, and best of all, shelves are full, prices are ka pai. Service was excellent, very friendly & welcoming.
