   I was recently looking for a specific item as a garnish for a First Class meal we were creating. I went in to Central City Flowers to buy some but unfortunately they were out of stock. Allan then did something truly amazing. Not only did he ring his supplier to see if they had stock, he then went and picked it up and delivered it to me. I was truly thankful. Allan not only removed all stresses away from me but he saved the presentation of the food. You dont often get this level of excellent service so Allan and the team have certainly picked up my ongoing business. Aside from the amazing service I was impressed by the selection within the Colombo street shop, it was full and bright and selection was excellent. AAAAA+++++

   Extremely rude staff, not interested in helping customer at all. Just told us to read, ‘Can u read?’ ‘Do you understand?’ I’ve never seen this level of disgraceful service anywhere. Why work in retail if you can’t be bothered assisting customers? Can always work at back end job (Eg. cleaning toilets…where his attitude belongs). The staff you need to speak to is the only person attending the shop today between 12 to 2pm…Reading previous comments, this is recurring behaviours, it’d be hard to believe you have no idea about this, as a small business owner…Or is this staff you, Allan?

   I went into the shop this afternoon to buy some flowers for a friend. I could see the already arranged bouquets through the entrance of the door but felt that this one ought to be lighter and more minimal, so I looked to the loose flowers outside of the store for inspiration. I found her favourite flowers from the selection outside and brought them in to pay for. I asked the man working there if he could wrap them together and mentioned they were for my friend who’s mum had just passed. He was a little bit standoffish and rude. He told me to make sure she that my friend “knows the arrangement wasn’t put together by the florist,” then went on to talk about how I should have picked one of the bouquets in the store. I was a bit shocked and slightly insulted, considering my friend’s circumstances and my obvious attempt to cheer her up. I then retold the story to my husband who went on to say that he’d bought me flowers from the same man and received the same treatment — a criticism for the flowers he chose for me (which I thought were beautiful), with the addition of the comment: “my reputation is on the line when you choose your own flowers.” I think maybe just be a little more sensitive. People are generally buying flowers to make someone feel better, for whatever reason. You never know what that can mean for people, so at the very least, don’t be so rude! Or take the pots away from the front of the store if it’s such an issue for you that people choose their own.

   I came in at 4pm on a Wednesday with a last minute request for wedding flowers, to be ready by 9am the next morning!! After the initial shock, the florist recovered himself and talked about what I wanted, using the supplies he had left. The next morning I came and picked up the most beautiful short notice wedding bouquet anyone has ever had!! Thank you so much!

   Fantastic flowers, fantastic service. Easily the best roses in town; wide variety of colors and all perfectly timed to open the moment you get home. They are long lasting, often surviving well for over a week without preservatives. Newly renovated shop with a large and high quality stock. Takes the concept of a mall florist to a whole new level.
