   Would give a zero if I could. Avoid this place and their dirty, shady business practice. Went in for a warrant fix (all good), but they told me they missed something the first time. They wanted to charge me twice for the warrant when it was their screw up. The three mechanics were having all the emotions out the back when I challenged them on paying twice for their mistake. The old guy tried telling me it's normal for all cars to make a grinding noise when you lock the steering wheel as though I've never driven a car before. My silly female brain!... Went back for the missed fix today and got told they hadn't replaced something last time, so now had an oil leak and missing parts, ON TOP of the first screw up. The older lady first admitted it was something that their boy had missed. Contradicted herself and lied at payment, and told me they didn't know how it happened. BS. What an experience! These people are unprofessional, rude, scamming AH's. Do not go here unless you like burning your money. Worst experience with a business, ever!

   One employee who moves cars drives like an idiot down Blakiston st cutting people off and going way to fast. There are kids in the area walking home from school etc. Not a good way to represent the business.

   My wife recently took her car to this garage for a WOF. It failed on a couple of items which sounded fair enough. However, she was also told that the engine had a serious oil leak which would cost 8 hours of Labour but no parts to repair. This sounded suspicious as there has never found a single drop of oil on our new garage floor in 5 years!! Not trusting this garage, we took the car to another one, where they confirmed absolutely no leak! Do not trust this garage, they are running a scam!

   Paid for a diagnosis on a Toyota that was noisy at idle. I was told it was the timing chain and would cost $2k+ I did further self diagnosis and deemed the noise was coming from the sump so unlikely the chain and instead the balance shaft. I've fixed and resolved the problem elsewhere, but am glad I didn't get taken for a walk. I paid $50 for someone to look, and with no past experience I was able to make a better judgement and eliminate their diagnosis as a possibility. Extremely disappointing to be misdiagnosed on something so major, and easy to eliminate. I would never trust them again with this experience

   Have been using Hoon Hay Automotive for a few years. Have zero doubts about their honesty, competency and decency. Friendly family run business. Couldn’t ask for more. On two occasions before I used these guys I’d been told different things were wrong with my car by different mechanics but HHA said there was no issue. Definitely 100% trustworthy. Anyone who says otherwise just has issues with their vehicle and doesn’t want to accept it.
