We walked into your store fully intending to spend the $2,000 - $3000 we had set aside on camping gear and clothing for an upcoming trip, plus Christmas presents for our friends and family. We live out of town, planned this visit carefully, and came prepared with a detailed shopping list. That plan was destroyed almost immediately. Upon entering the shop we decided to do Xmas gifts and clothes first before moving on to the bigger camping gear. After selecting only three items of clothing to try on - well within your stated limit of 4 garments, my partner was hissed at by an older woman stationed behind the counter near the changing rooms. Hissed at. For absolutely no reason. He was left standing there confused, embarrassed, and wondering what rule he had supposedly broken - because he hadn’t broken any! From that moment on, miss sour lemon face stood behind the counter staring at both of us with open hostility, glaring with obvious contempt. Her body language and expression made it VERY clear that we were not welcome in your store. The atmosphere was so uncomfortable that my poor partner felt humiliated enough to turn to me and ask if we could please leave because of how uncomfortable this odd woman was making him. This was particularly upsetting because Hunting & Fishing has always been his favourite store. "Not any longer", he says. Because of one staff member’s appalling behaviour, you lost thousands of dollars in guaranteed sales. We were ready to purchase a tent, camping gear, clothing, and gifts - between $2,000 and $3,000 worth - in the store that day. Instead, we put everything back, returned items to the racks, and walked out. This one employee single-handedly chased away loyal, paying customers. We don’t expect the golden treatment when we enter your store, but I definitely don’t expect you to treat my partner this way! That is unacceptable! He works VERY hard to earn the money he spends in your store and your staff member treated him like a piece of crap on the bottom of her shoe for no reason :( To make matters worse, as we were leaving, another pushy staff member had the audacity to stop us on the way out moments from the door and ask us why we “hadn’t found what we were looking for” - in other words, asking us why we hadn’t opened our wallets and spent any money… as if the issue was somehow us! The entire experience was not only rude but incredibly bizarre. My partner and I have both been long-time, loyal customers, shopping here for birthdays and Christmases for so many years. That ends now. We will never return. Your staff’s behaviour was aggressive, and completely unprofessional. After reading other reviews, it’s clear this store has a bit of an ongoing problem with how staff treat their customers - and that problem starts with the people you allow to represent your business. Not impressed.

Great store. This is the best hunting and fishing store in the entire country. I like it because it’s convenient for me and the staff are lovely. They have a great range of diving gear on offer as well as loads of clothing and other gear and accessories.

I've bought quite a few higher-priced items here over the years and I always find the service excellent and the pricing very fair. Highly recommended.

Got a hunter's element jacket yesterday. Excellent customer service from young blonde lady, very knowledgeable on products, gave advice and recommended a range of options. Thank you.

Called in to buy a tent - a few were upstairs and chained off from public access. You have to get a sales person to show you. I want to look unmolested so left.

The best place to gather information about fishing in the area. Was recommended to go to a river close to the airfield for some trout fishing I forget the name it was Archer some such name but as it was May and the season is over I did not see a single fish. Spent three hours up and down till the bridge but no luck
