Had a great day out with Garth and Andy, went to quite a few spots, caught heaps of fish but a number were undersized so they went back in. Went home with Snapper, blue cod and a tarakihi, saw dolphins and flying fish, and lots of kingy's around. Found Garth to be very professional and conscientious about getting us on the right spot. Andy was very friendly and helpful, with lots of stories, and made the day a fun time. Was impressed withs Garths seamanship, bought the boat in with strong tidal currents running and barely nudged the dock.

Thanks to Kerri, Garth and Andy, We had a work crew day out on Deepstar and everyone had a great day. They were fully prepared in terms of bait and gear and even though the fishing wasn't shit hot, everyone came home with fresh fish and all enjoyed their day out. Everyone agreed they had a great day and would go again, apart from those who had some motion sickness issues lol.

We went out on a public charter with Deepstar on the 17/02/24. From start to finish the Skipper Garth and the Deckhand Andy were absolutely awesome. There is no denying this isn't the most modern boat option but these two know what they're doing. Through no fault of their own (the fishing simply isn't too great yet this year!) there wasn't a heap of fish but everyone on our charter went home with something and everyone in my group personally also learnt a lot. Garth made sure not to stay in one spot for too long if the fish weren't biting and whilst some might get frustrated at this, we all much preferred this approach to sitting in one spot for hours catching nothing. The boys were incredibly helpful and knew how to have a laugh too which we really appreciated. We are already looking to book again. Thank you Garth and Andy!

Hi Deepstar Thank you for the experience on deepstar charters but it wasn't a good experience at all, captain basically took us for a joyride and came back to port n 5 meter swells the highlight of the trip was the 30min night fishing we had catching flying fish before captain turn lights off and went to bed. Next morning boys were so excited to head out for hapuka fishing but weather was not in our favor if we had known weather conditions weren't going to be good we would've postponed for a later date. We didn't do much fishing at all. Basically made it mayor's island fished a couple of reef fish and came back in a storm and you have deck hand that has a bung knee and smokes pot all day not much help to us at all. Trip was not worth it we shouldn't have gone out. We did get a 5% refund lol

Such a good day out! The deckhand was so knowledgeable about all the different sorts of fish and made good banter with us. Will definitely be back!!!

Great day out fishing with the deep star crew. We tried a few different spots but the fish were slow to catch on with our intentions of having a full bin. Still enjoyed the outing and a great skipper.

Great day!! Comfotable older boat. Plenty of space with 16 on board. Skipper moved boat regularly to find fish. Which we did. Got heaps. Will definitely use this charter again.
