I only had time to play 9 holes but what a treat! The course is good shape with greens that roll true. Both the gentleman manning the golf shop and the greenskeeper were very friendly. At only $30 NZ for 9 holes it was almost as enjoyable as playing Cape Kidnappers at $950 NZ!

Lovely course in the centre of Christchurch. Paid parking nearby but only for 180 minutes. Super friendly club members. Course in good condition. Design values straight hitters to grab your pars. Lots of huge trees for shade which on a hot day was lovely. pro shop closed when we got there but we had our own gear and water/snacks. If you enjoy golf and are in Christchurch this is an accessable way to play for a few enjoyable hours.

Was visiting Christchurch from the US for just 2 days, and decided to walk over to the course early on a Sunday morning (early Nov) to see if I could get on. A friendly gentleman opened the pro shop and assisted me with getting rental clubs, a few balls, and a pull cart. All for $50 NZ dollars. I really enjoyed playing the course. Technically it's a 12 hole course, but you replay 6 of the holes (with different flags on the greens). Laid back atmosphere, some folks had their dogs along with them on the course. Super friendly locals playing.

I completed one of the items on my bucket list here! I am a tourist and called the golf club to check a round for the weekend. They mentioned that Saturday mornings are busy and suggested coming after 1:00 PM (no need booking, just walk through). We arrived around 2:30 PM and met a man who seemed to be a volunteer managing the club. He said it was a bit late, asked us to come back next day, as no volunteers would be available by the time we finished 18 holes. I told him that playing 9 holes would be enough for us, and he kindly let us register. I asked about renting a set of clubs. They had plenty available, though they were quite old (probably 20–30 years old). Normally, it costs 50 NZD for 18 holes, but he only charged me 40 NZD, including everything — the rental clubs, balls, a manual buggy, and tees. You could also buy new gloves if needed. My child, who is 11 years old, was allowed to play for free. We shared the rented clubs (he used a 5-wood for tee shots). Fyi, we wear T-shirt and trecking shoes. We had a great time playing golf in New Zealand in April. It was fantastic, although it got a little cold later in the afternoon. Interestingly, we even saw some people picking chestnuts on the fairways! My driver tends to slice, which made some shots a little scary. Thanks to the wonderful and kind staff and the beautiful course, we enjoyed 9 holes and returned the rental clubs to the reception — although by 5:00 PM, nobody was there. My bucket list includes: - Playing golf in New Zealand - Playing golf with my child Thank you, Hagley Golf Club!

Ridiculous Prices for what the course was, the greens were flooded, no flags where in some of the holes. Overall a disappointing experience for the money we paid.

Really overpriced for the quality especially at $20 for 12 holes. Greens are also not up to standard for another round back here. I used to like this course but the price and quality has changed my mind.

greens are the same length as most tee boxes at other courses. people walk through the course and sometimes have picnics in the fairways. members think they are elitists. dont go

Community golf club, good rating, challenging course, friendly, relaxed sociable environment and people.

Great 12 hole course, can make you a little nervous if you have a slice on some holes with footpaths but great city course with great prices! You can play 18 holes with some greens having two flags. Good balance course for all levels
