⭐ **1 Star** We have been loyal MAS customers for about 15 years, with very few claims. Unfortunately, our recent experience has been deeply disappointing. MAS declined a simple contents claim for accidental damage by relying on an ambiguous exclusion that is not even defined in their policy. When we raised this, MAS justified the decision using a Google definition instead of their own contract wording. Even more concerning, it now appears that items we clearly disclosed years ago may no longer be properly covered under the new policy wording. After years of loyalty and recommendations to friends and patients, we expected fair treatment and clarity, not legalistic reasoning and shifting exclusions. Very disappointed by MAS’s approach to long-term members.

Unlike most insurance companies they do not send out reminders for upcoming payments. We woke up one morning to be in a huge overdraft as we did not expect our payment to come out. When I called to ask about getting a reminder, the told me that 6 months ago they sent out our only reminder and that this was sufficient. Still waiting on them to get back to me for almost a week now to try to work this out

MAS is essentially closed on weekends. No temporary changes can be made to policies (e.g. add another driver). It's a bit strange given the work they do. I will be looking to cancel my policy and seek services elsewhere.

I have been with MAS since 2003. The society gave me a start in the Dental Industry for equipment then latter on for a home loan. MAS has become very corporate. John Glue annually visited to make sure you were covered adequately. When MAS went corporate that stopped. Now when I went to claim on my business interruption insurance they are saying I am not covered. I have heard from GP's and Dentists have struggled with claims for earthquake damage. 14 years this has dragged on it's delay deny and decline.

We have been with MAS for 7 years and after the Christchurch earthquake did not see a dine from MAS. Be very careful with MAS policy wording especially for small Business. MAS told us to contact there lawyer instead of talking to the customers directly. Will never be working with these guys ever.

Accepted our claim but has taken close to three months and we are still not completely paid out. The whole process has been painful. Poor communication between insurer and loss adjuster. Misleading information on website and hardly a seamless process designed for professionals.
